وَإِذَا
And whenever
قِيلَ
was said
لَهُمْ
to them,
ءَامِنُوا۟
[Have peace of mind
بِمَآ
with what
أَنزَلَ
has descended
ٱللَّهُ
the One.],
قَالُوا۟
they said,
نُؤْمِنُ
[We are at peace
بِمَآ
with what
أُنزِلَ
(already) has been established
عَلَيْنَا
upon us.],
وَيَكْفُرُونَ
and they denied
بِمَا
about what was
وَرَآءَهُۥ
coming up after it,
وَهُوَ
while it was
ٱلْحَقُّ
the truth
مُصَدِّقًۭا
— a confirmation
لِّمَا
for whatever is
مَعَهُمْ
with them.
ۗ
قُلْ
Say,
فَلِمَ
[Then why did
تَقْتُلُونَ
you murder
أَنۢبِيَآءَ
the appointed leaders of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
مِن
from
قَبْلُ
before
إِن
if
كُنتُم
you were
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
at peace about what you knew?]
٢
٩١
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُوا۟ نُؤْمِنُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَيَكْفُرُونَ بِمَا وَرَآءَهُۥ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ ۗ قُلْ فَلِمَ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنۢبِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ مِن قَبْلُ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ And whenever was said to them, [Have peace of mind with what has descended the One.], they said, [We are at peace with what (already) has been established upon us.], and they denied about what was coming up after it, while it was the truth — a confirmation for whatever is with them. Say, [Then why did you murder the appointed leaders of the One from before if you were at peace about what you knew?]

And when it is said unto them: Believe in that which Allah hath revealed, they say: We believe in that which was revealed unto us. And they disbelieve in that which cometh after it, though it is the truth confirming that which they possess. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Why then slew ye the prophets of Allah aforetime, if ye are (indeed) believers? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when they are told, [Believe in what Allah has sent down,] they say, [We believe in what was sent down to us,] and they disbelieve what is besides it, though it is the truth confirming what is with them. Say, [Then why would you kill the prophets of Allah formerly, should you be faithful?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When they are told to believe n God's revelations, they reply, [We believe only in what God has revealed to us,] but they disbelieve His other true revelations, even though these revelations confirms their own (original) Scripture. (Muhammad) ask them, [Why did you murder God's Prophets if you were true believers?] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when it is said to them, Believe in what Allah has revealed, they say: We believe in that which was revealed to us; and they deny what is besides that, while it is the truth verifying that which they have. Say: Why then did you kill Allah's Prophets before if you were indeed believers? - Shakir, Habib

When they are told, [Believe in what God has revealed,] they say, [We believe in what was revealed to us,] while they deny the truth in what has been sent down after that, even though it is the Truth, confirming that which they already have. Say, [Why did you kill God's prophets in the past, if you were true believers? - Wahiduddin Khan

جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ خدا کے نازل کئے ہوئے پر ایمان لے آؤ تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم صرف اس پر ایمان لے آئیں گے جو ہم پر نازل ہوا ہے اور اس کے علاوہ سب کا انکار کردیتے ہیں. اگرچہ وہ بھی حق ہے اور ان کے پاس جو کچھ ہے اس کی تصدیق کرنے والا بھی ہے. اب آپ ان سے کہئے کہ اگر تم مومن ہو تو اس سے پہلے انبیائ خدا کو قتل کیوں کرتے تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جب اُن سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ جو کچھ اللہ نے نازل کیا ہے اس پر ایمان لاؤ، تو وہ کہتے ہیں ——ہم تو صرف اُس چیز پر ایمان لاتے ہیں، جو ہمارے ہاں (یعنی نسل اسرائیل) میں اتری ہے—— اس دائرے کے باہر جو کچھ آیا ہے، اسے ماننے سے وہ انکار کرتے ہیں، حالانکہ وہ حق ہے اور اُس تعلیم کی تصدیق و تائید کر رہا ہے جو ان کے ہاں پہلے سے موجود تھی اچھا، ان سے کہو: اگر تم اس تعلیم ہی پر ایمان رکھنے والے ہو جو تمہارے ہاں آئی تھی، تو اس سے پہلے اللہ کے اُن پیغمبروں کو (جو خود بنی اسرائیل میں پیدا ہوئے تھے) کیوں قتل کرتے رہے؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب ان سے کہا جائے کہ اللہ کے اتارے پر ایمان لاؤ تو کہتے ہیں وہ جو ہم پر اترا اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور باقی سے منکر ہوتے ہیں حالانکہ وہ حق ہے ان کے پاس والے کی تصدیق فرماتا ہوا تم فرماؤ کہ پھر اگلے انبیاء کو کیوں شہید کیا اگر تمہیں اپنی کتاب پر ایمان تھا - - Ahmed Raza

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ جو (قرآن) اللہ نے نازل کیا ہے اس پر ایمان لاؤ۔ تو وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اس پر تو ایمان رکھتے ہیں جو ہم (بنی اسرائیل) پر نازل کیا گیا ہے مگر اس کے علاوہ جو کچھ (قرآن، انجیل وغیرہ) ہے اس کا انکار کرتے ہیں حالانکہ وہ حق ہے اور جو ان کے پاس موجود ہے (توراۃ) اس کی بھی تصدیق کرتا ہے (اے رسول) آپ ان سے کہیے کہ اگر تم (توراۃ پر) ایمان رکھتے تھے تو اس سے پہلے (اگلے زمانہ) میں اللہ کے نبیوں کو کیوں قتل کرتے رہے ہو؟ ۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And certainly
جَآءَكُم
came to you
مُّوسَىٰ
Moosa
بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
with the clarifications,
ثُمَّ
but
ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ
you adopted
ٱلْعِجْلَ
the calf (an immature idea)
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِهِۦ
after him
وَأَنتُمْ
and you were
ظَٰلِمُونَ
doing wrong.
٢
٩٢
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُم مُّوسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ And certainly came to you Moosa with the clarifications, but you adopted the calf (an immature idea) from after him and you were doing wrong.

And Moses came unto you with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), yet, while he was away, ye chose the calf (for worship) and ye were wrong-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly Moses brought you manifest proofs, but then you took up the Calf in his absence and you were wrongdoers. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Moses) brought you certain miracles. Not very long after, you began worshipping the calf which was nothing but senseless cruelty to yourselves. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And most certainly Musa came to you with clear arguments, then you took the calf (for a god) in his absence and you were unjust. - Shakir, Habib

Moses came to you with clear signs, but in his absence you worshipped the calf and became wrongdoers.] - Wahiduddin Khan

یقینا موسٰی علیھ السّلام تمہارے پاس واضح نشانیاں لے کر آئے لیکن تم نے ان کے بعد گو سالہ کو اختیار کرلیا اور تم واقعی ظالم ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

تمہارے پاس موسیٰؑ کیسی کیسی روشن نشانیوں کے ساتھ آیا پھر بھی تم ایسے ظالم تھے کہ اس کے پیٹھ موڑتے ہی بچھڑے کو معبود بنا بیٹھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور بیشک تمہارے پاس موسیٰ کھلی نشانیاں لے کر تشریف لایا پھر تم نے اس کے بعد بچھڑے کو معبود بنالیا اور تم ظالم تھے- - Ahmed Raza

اور یقینا موسیٰ تمہارے پاس کھلے ہوئے معجزے لے کر آئے پھر بھی تم ایسے ظالم تھے کہ ان کے (کوہ طور پر جانے کے) بعد گوسالہ کو (معبود) بنا لیا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَإِذْ
And (recall) when
أَخَذْنَا
We took
مِيثَٰقَكُمْ
your agreement
وَرَفَعْنَا
and raised
فَوْقَكُمُ
above you
ٱلطُّورَ
the endeavour
خُذُوا۟
— [Take
مَآ
what
ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم
We give you
بِقُوَّةٍۢ
with force] —
وَٱسْمَعُوا۟
and they heard.
ۖ
قَالُوا۟
They said,
سَمِعْنَا
[We hear,
وَعَصَيْنَا
and we defy!],
وَأُشْرِبُوا۟
and was absorbed
فِى
in
قُلُوبِهِمُ
their hearts
ٱلْعِجْلَ
the calf (the immature idea)
بِكُفْرِهِمْ
due to their denial.
ۚ
قُلْ
Say,
بِئْسَمَا
[Evil is what
يَأْمُرُكُم
commands you
بِهِۦٓ
through it
إِيمَٰنُكُمْ
your belief,
إِن
if
كُنتُم
you are
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
believers.].
٢
٩٣
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ ٱلطُّورَ خُذُوا۟ مَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٍۢ وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ ۖ قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَأُشْرِبُوا۟ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ ۚ قُلْ بِئْسَمَا يَأْمُرُكُم بِهِۦٓ إِيمَٰنُكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ And (recall) when We took your agreement and raised above you the endeavour — [Take what We give you with force] — and they heard. They said, [We hear, and we defy!], and was absorbed in their hearts the calf (the immature idea) due to their denial. Say, [Evil is what commands you through it your belief, if you are believers.].

And when We made with you a covenant and caused the Mount to tower above you, (saying): Hold fast by that which We have given you, and hear (Our Word), they said: We hear and we rebel. And (worship of) the calf was made to sink into their hearts because of their rejection (of the covenant). Say (unto them): Evil is that which your belief enjoineth on you, if ye are believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when We took covenant with you and raised the Mount above you, [declaring], [Hold on with power to what We have given you, and do listen!] They said, [We hear, and disobey,] and their hearts had been imbued with [the love of] the Calf, due to their unfaith. Say, [Evil is that to which your faith prompts you, should you be faithful!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Children of Israel) when We made a covenant with you, raised Mount Tur (Sinai) above you, and told you to receive devotedly what We had revealed to you and to listen to it, you said that you had listened but you disobeyed. They denied the truth and became totally devoted and full of love for the calf. (Muhammad) tell these people, [If, in fact, you are true believers, then what your faith commands you to do is evil.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when We made a covenant with you and raised the mountain over you: Take hold of what We have given you with firmness and be obedient. They said: We hear and disobey. And they were made to imbibe (the love of) the calf into their hearts on account of their unbelief. Say: Evil is that which your belief bids you if you are believers. - Shakir, Habib

When We made a covenant with you and raised the mountain above you saying, [Hold firmly to what We have given you and listen,] you said, [We hear, but we disobey,] and their hearts were filled with the love of the calf, because of their refusal to acknowledge the truth. Say, [Evil is that to which your faith enjoins you if you are indeed believers.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب ہم نے تم سے توریت پر عمل کرنے کا عہد لیا اور تمہارے سروں پر کوسِ طور کو معلق کردیا کہ توریت کو مضبوطی سئے پکڑلو تو انہوں نے ڈر کے مارے فورا اقرار کرلیا کہ ہم نے سن تو لیا لیکن پھر نافرمانی بھی کریں گے کہ ان کے دلوں میں گو سالہ کی محبت گھول کر پلادی گئی ہے. پیغمبر ان سے کہہ دو کہ اگر تم ایماندار ہو تو تمہارا ایمان بہت برے احکام دیتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر ذرا اُس میثاق کو یاد کرو، جو طُور کو تمہارے اوپر اٹھا کر ہم نے تم سے لیا تھا ہم نے تاکید کی تھی کہ جو ہدایات ہم دے رہے ہیں، ان کی سختی کے ساتھ پابندی کرو اور کان لگا کر سنو تمہارے اسلاف نے کہا کہ ہم نے سن لیا، مگر مانیں گے نہیں اور ان کی باطل پرستی کا یہ حال تھا کہ دلوں میں ان کے بچھڑا ہی بسا ہوا تھا کہو: اگر تم مومن ہو، تو عجیب ایمان ہے، جو ایسی بری حرکات کا تمہیں حکم دیتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور (یاد کرو) جب ہم نے تم سے پیمان لیا او ر کوہ ِ طور کو تمہارے سروں پر بلند کیا، لو جو ہم تمہیں دیتے ہیں زور سے اور سنو بولے ہم نے سنا اور نہ مانا اور ان کے دلوں میں بچھڑا رچ رہا تھا ان کے کفر کے سبب تم فرمادو کیا برا حکم دیتا ہے تم کو تمہارا ایمان اگر ایمان رکھتے ہو- - Ahmed Raza

اور (وہ وقت یاد کرو) کہ جب ہم نے تم سے عہد و پیمان لیا اور تمہارے اوپر کوہِ طور کو بلند کیا (اور کہا تھا کہ جو کچھ ہم نے تمہیں دیا ہے اسے مضبوطی سے پکڑو۔ اور جو کچھ اس میں ہے اسے غور سے) سنو تو (تمہارے اسلاف) نے زبان سے کہا کہ ہم نے سن تو لیا اور دل میں کہا ہم عمل نہیں کریں گے اور ان کے کفر کی وجہ سے ان کے دلوں میں گوسالہ کی محبت بیٹھ گئی تھی۔ (اے رسول) کہیے! اگر تم مؤمن ہو تو تمہارا ایمان تمہیں بہت ہی برے کاموں کا حکم دیتا ہے (یہ عجیب ایمان ہے)۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Say,
إِن

for you
ٱلدَّارُ
the home
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ
of the forthcoming
عِندَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
خَالِصَةًۭ
exclusive
مِّن
of
دُونِ
inferior
ٱلنَّاسِ
people,
فَتَمَنَّوُا۟
then be wishing for
ٱلْمَوْتَ
the death
إِن
if
كُنتُمْ
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful people.]

٩٤
قُلْ إِن كَانَتْ لَكُمُ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَالِصَةًۭ مِّن دُونِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا۟ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ Say, [If was for you the home of the forthcoming from the One, exclusive of inferior people, then be wishing for the death if you are truthful people.]

Say (unto them): If the abode of the Hereafter in the providence of Allah is indeed for you alone and not for others of mankind (as ye pretend), then long for death (for ye must long for death) if ye are truthful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [If the abode of the Hereafter were exclusively for you with Allah, and not for other people, then long for death, should you be truthful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), tell them, [If your claim is true that the home with God in the everlasting life hereafter is for you alone, you should have a longing for death]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say: If the future abode with Allah is specially for you to the exclusion of the people, then invoke death if you are truthful. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
Say, [If God's abode of the Hereafter is for you alone, to the exclusion of all others, then wish for death, if you are truthful.] - Wahiduddin Khan

ان سے کہو کہ اگر سارے انسانوں میںدا» آخرت فقط تمہارے لئے ہے اور تم اپنے دعوے میں سچّے ہو تو موت کی تمّنا کرو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن سے کہو کہ اگر واقعی اللہ کے نزدیک آخرت کا گھر تمام انسانوں کو چھوڑ کر صرف تمہارے ہی لیے مخصوص ہے، تب تو تمہیں چاہیے کہ موت کی تمنا کرو، اگر تم اپنے اس خیال میں سچے ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم فرماؤ اگر پچھلا گھر اللہ کے نزدیک خالص تمہارے لئے ہو، نہ اوروں کے لئے تو بھلا موت کی آرزو تو کرو اگر سچے ہو- - Ahmed Raza

نیز ان سے کہیے کہ اگر خدا کے نزدیک آخرت کا گھر (جنت) دوسرے لوگوں کو چھوڑ کر صرف تمہارے لئے مخصوص ہے تو پھر موت کی آرزو کرو۔ اگر تم اپنے اس دعویٰ میں سچے ہو (تاکہ جلدی بہشت میں داخل ہو جاؤ)۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

أَبَدًۢا

بِمَا

قَدَّمَتْ
have put forward
أَيْدِيهِمْ
their hands.
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
And the One is
عَلِيمٌۢ
well apprised
بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
about the wrong doers.
And never they will wish it ever because of what have put forward their hands. And the One is well apprised about the wrong doers.
⦿
But they will never long for it, because of that which their own hands have sent before them. Allah is aware of evil-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But they will not long for it ever because of what their hands have sent ahead, and Allah knows best the wrongdoers. - Qarai, Ali Quli

But they can never have a longing for death because of what they have done. God knows the unjust well. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And they will never invoke it on account of what their hands have sent before, and Allah knows the unjust. - Shakir, Habib

But they will never wish for death, because of what their own hands have sent on before them; God is fully aware of the wrongdoers. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور یہ اپنے پچھلے اعمال کی بنا پر ہرگز موت کی تمّنا نہیں کریں گے کہ خدا ظالموں کے حالات سے خوب واقف ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یقین جانو کہ یہ کبھی اس کی تمنا نہ کریں گے، اس لیے کہ اپنے ہاتھوں جو کچھ کما کر انہوں نے وہاں بھیجا ہے، اس کا اقتضا یہی ہے (کہ یہ وہاں جانے کی تمنا نہ کریں) اللہ ان ظالموں کے حال سے خوب واقف ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہرگز کبھی اس کی آرزو نہ کریں گے ان بداعمالیوں کے سبب جو آگے کرچکے اور اللہ خوب جانتا ہے ظالموں کو- - Ahmed Raza

اور (سن لو) کہ یہ لوگ ان (اعمالِ بد) کی وجہ سے جو ان کے ہاتھ آگے بھیج چکے ہیں کبھی بھی موت کی آرزو نہیں کریں گے اور خدائے تعالیٰ ظالموں کو خوب جانتا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ
And surely you will find them
أَحْرَصَ
most greedy of
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
عَلَىٰ
for
حَيَوٰةٍۢ
life,
وَمِنَ
and from
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
أَشْرَكُوا۟
add partners with the One's authority.
ۚ
يَوَدُّ
Loves
أَحَدُهُمْ
any one of them
لَوْ
that
يُعَمَّرُ
they age
أَلْفَ
thousand
سَنَةٍۢ
a years,
وَمَا
while not
هُوَ
that will
بِمُزَحْزِحِهِۦ
be protective about him
مِنَ
from
ٱلْعَذَابِ
the punishment
أَن
if
يُعَمَّرَ
he lives.
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
And the One is
بَصِيرٌۢ
observant
بِمَا
with what
يَعْمَلُونَ
they are doing.
٢
٩٦
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٍۢ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ ۚ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍۢ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ And surely you will find them most greedy of the people for life, and from the ones who add partners with the One's authority. Loves any one of them that they age thousand a years, while not that will be protective about him from the punishment if he lives. And the One is observant with what they are doing.

And thou wilt find them greediest of mankind for life and (greedier) than the idolaters. (Each) one of them would like to be allowed to live a thousand years. And to live (a thousand years) would be no means remove him from the doom. Allah is Seer of what they do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Surely, you will find them the greediest for life, of all people even the idolaters. Each of them is eager to live a thousand years, though it would not deliver him from the punishment, were he to live [that long]. And Allah watches what they do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

However, you will find them the greediest of all men, even more than the pagans, for life. They would each gladly live for a thousand years, but such a long life would not save them from the torment. God sees what they do. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And you will most certainly find them the greediest of men for life (greedier) than even those who are polytheists; every one of them loves that he should be granted a life of a thousand years, and his being granted a long life will in no way remove him further off from the chastisement, and Allah sees what they do. - Shakir, Habib

You will find them clinging to life more eagerly than any other people, even the polytheists. Any of them would wish to be given a life of a thousand years, though even such a long life would not save them from [Our] punishment; and God sees all that they do. - Wahiduddin Khan

اے رسول آپ دیکھیں گے کہ یہ زندگی کے سب سے زیادہ حریص ہیں اور بعض مشرکین تو یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ انہیں ہزار برس کی عمر دے دی جائے جبکہ یہ ہزار برس بھی زندہ رہیں تو طول هحیات انہیںعذابِ الٰہی سے نہیں بچا سکتا. اللہ ان کے اعمال کو خوب دیکھ رہا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

تم انہیں سب سے بڑھ کر جینے کا حریص پاؤ گے حتیٰ کہ یہ اس معاملے میں مشرکوں سے بھی بڑھے ہوئے ہیں ان میں سے ایک ایک شخص یہ چاہتا ہے کہ کسی طرح ہزار برس جیے، حالانکہ لمبی عمر بہرحال اُسے عذاب سے تو دور نہیں پھینک سکتی جیسے کچھ اعمال یہ کر رہے ہیں، اللہ تو انہیں دیکھ ہی رہا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور بیشک تم ضرور انہیں پاؤ گے کہ سب لوگوں سے زیادہ جینے کی ہوس رکھتے ہیں اور مشرکوں سے ایک کو تمنا ہے کہ کہیں ہزار برس جئے اور وہ اسے عذاب سے دور نہ کرے گا اتنی عمر دیا جانا اور اللہ ان کے کوتک دیکھ رہا ہے، - Ahmed Raza

اور (اے نبی!) تم ان کو سب لوگوں سے حتیٰ کہ مشرکوں سے بھی بڑھ کر زندگی کا حریص پاؤ گے ان میں ہر ایک چاہتا ہے کہ کاش اسے ایک ہزار سال کی عمر ملے حالانکہ اس قدر عمر کا مل جانا بھی اسے خدا کے عذاب سے نہیں بچا سکتا اور یہ لوگ جو کچھ کر رہے ہیں اللہ اسے خوب دیکھ رہا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Say,
مَن
[Who
كَانَ
happens to be
عَدُوًّۭا
an enemy
لِّجِبْرِيلَ
for Jibreel?
فَإِنَّهُۥ
For it is (Jibreel) who
نَزَّلَهُۥ
descended it
عَلَىٰ
upon
قَلْبِكَ
your heart
بِإِذْنِ
with the permission of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
مُصَدِّقًۭا
— a confirmation
لِّمَا
for whatever is
بَيْنَ
between
يَدَيْهِ
His hands
وَهُدًۭى
and a guidance
وَبُشْرَىٰ
and good news
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
for the ones who believe.]
٢
٩٧
قُلْ مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّۭا لِّجِبْرِيلَ فَإِنَّهُۥ نَزَّلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهُدًۭى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ Say, [Who happens to be an enemy for Jibreel? For it is (Jibreel) who descended it upon your heart with the permission of the One — a confirmation for whatever is between His hands and a guidance and good news for the ones who believe.]

Say (O Muhammad, to mankind): Who is an enemy to Gabriel! For he it is who hath revealed (this Scripture) to thy heart by Allah's leave, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, and a guidance and glad tidings to believers; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [Whoever is an enemy of Gabriel [should know that] it is he who has brought it down on your heart with the will of Allah, confirming what has been [revealed] before it and as a guidance and good news for the faithful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), tell the people, whoever is an enemy to Gabriel who has delivered the Book to your heart as a guide and as joyful news to the believers, - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say: Whoever is the enemy of Jibreel-- for surely he revealed it to your heart by Allah's command, verifying that which is before it and guidance and good news for the believers. - Shakir, Habib

Say, [Anyone who is an enemy of Gabriel, who by God's leave has brought down to your heart [the Quran] fulfilling that [predictions about the last prophet in the earlier revelations] which precedes it, and is a guidance and good news for the faithful, - Wahiduddin Khan

اے رسول کہہ دیجئے کہ جو شخص بھی جبریل کا دشمن ہے اسے معلوم ہونا چاہئے کہ جبریل نے آپ کے دل پر قرآن حکم خدا سے اتارا ہے جو سابق کتابوں کی تصدیق کرنے والاً ہدایت اور صاحبانِ ایمان کے لئے بشارت ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن سے کہو کہ جو کوئی جبریل سے عداوت رکھتا ہو، اسے معلوم ہونا چاہیے کہ جبریل نے اللہ کے اِذن سے یہ قرآن تمہارے قلب پر نازل کیا ہے، جو پہلے آئی ہوئی کتابوں کی تصدیق و تائید کرتا ہے اور ایمان لانے والوں کے لیے ہدایت اور کامیابی کی بشارت بن کر آیا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم فرمادو جو کوئی جبریل کا دشمن ہو تو اس (جبریل) نے تو تمہارے دل پر اللہ کے حکم سے یہ قرآن اتارا اگلی کتابوں کی تصدیق فرماتا اور ہدایت و بشارت مسلمانوں کو- - Ahmed Raza

فَإِنَّ
Thus it is that
ٱللَّهَ
the One is
عَدُوٌّۭ
an enemy
لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ
for the deniers.]

٩٨
مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّۭا لِّلَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَجِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَىٰلَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ [Who happens to be an enemy for the One and His malaikati, and His messengers, and Jibreel and Meekaal? Thus it is that the One is an enemy for the deniers.]

Who is an enemy to Allah, and His angels and His messengers, and Gabriel and Michael! Then, lo! Allah (Himself) is an enemy to the disbelievers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[Say,] [Whoever is an enemy of Allah, His angels and His apostles and Gabriel and Michael, [let him know that] Allah is the enemy of the faithless.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

and as a confirmation of (original) Scripture and whoever is the enemy of God, His angels, His Messenger, Gabriel and Michael, should know that God is the enemy of those who hide the Truth.. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Whoever is the enemy of Allah and His angels and His apostles and Jibreel and Meekaeel, so surely Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers. - Shakir, Habib

And certainly
أَنزَلْنَآ
We descended
إِلَيْكَ
towards you
ءَايَٰتٍۭ
signs of
بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ
clarifications,
ۖ
وَمَا
and not
يَكْفُرُ
deny
بِهَآ
about them
إِلَّا
except
ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
the ones who take liberties (from commands).
And certainly We descended towards you signs of clarifications, and not deny about them except the ones who take liberties (from commands).
⦿
Verily We have revealed unto thee clear tokens, and only miscreants will disbelieve in them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
We have certainly sent down manifest signs to you, and no one denies them except transgressors. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
(Muhammad) We have given you enlightening authority. Only the wicked sinners deny it. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And certainly We have revealed to you clear communications and none disbelieve in them except the transgressors. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
We have sent down clear signs to you and no one will reject them except the wicked. - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
ہم نے آپ کی طرف روشن نشانیاں نازل کی ہیں اور ان کا انکار فاسقوں کے سوا کوئی نہ کرے گا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ہم نے تمہاری طرف ایسی آیات نازل کی ہیں جو صاف صاف حق کا اظہار کر نے والی ہیں اور ان کی پیروی سے صرف وہی لوگ انکار کرتے ہیں، جو فاسق ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala
⦿
اور بیشک ہم نے تمہاری طرف روشن آیتیں اتاریں اور ان کے منکر نہ ہوں گے مگر فاسق لوگ - - Ahmed Raza
⦿
(اے رسول(ص)) بالیقین ہم نے تمہاری طرف واضح آیتیں نازل کی ہیں اور ان کا انکار نہیں کرتے مگر وہی جو فاسق (نافرمان) ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

أَوَكُلَّمَا
Is it not that whenever
عَٰهَدُوا۟
they pledged
عَهْدًۭا
a promise,
نَّبَذَهُۥ
rejected it
فَرِيقٌۭ
sectarians
مِّنْهُم
from them?
ۚ
بَلْ
But
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
many of them
لَا
not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
are sure.
٢
١٠٠
أَوَكُلَّمَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ عَهْدًۭا نَّبَذَهُۥ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُم ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ Is it not that whenever they pledged a promise, rejected it sectarians from them? But many of them not are sure.

Is it ever so that when they make a covenant a party of them set it aside? The truth is, most of them believe not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Is it not that whenever they made a covenant, a part of them would cast it away? Rather, the majority of them do not have faith. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Why is it that every time they (the Jews) make a covenant, some of them abandon it. Most of them do not even believe. - Sarwar, Muhammad

کیا ہمیشہ ایسا ہی نہیں ہوتا رہا ہے کہ جب انہوں نے کوئی عہد کیا، تو ان میں سے ایک نہ ایک گروہ نے اسے ضرور ہی بالا ئے طاق رکھ دیا؟ بلکہ ان میں سے اکثر ایسے ہی ہیں، جو سچے دل سے ایمان نہیں لاتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَلَمَّا
And when
جَآءَهُمْ
came to them
رَسُولٌۭ
a correspondence
مِّنْ
from
عِندِ
nearing
ٱللَّهِ
the One
مُصَدِّقٌۭ
— a confirmation
لِّمَا
for whatever is
مَعَهُمْ
with them —
نَبَذَ
rejected (it)
فَرِيقٌۭ
sectarians
مِّنَ
from
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
أُوتُوا۟
have been given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
كِتَٰبَ
written by
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
وَرَآءَ
behind
ظُهُورِهِمْ
their backs,
كَأَنَّهُمْ
as if they
لَا
did not
يَعْلَمُونَ
know it.

١٠١
وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٌۭ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ كِتَٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ And when came to them a correspondence from nearing the One — a confirmation for whatever is with them — rejected (it) sectarians from the ones who have been given the Book written by the One, behind their backs, as if they did not know it.

And when there cometh unto them a messenger from Allah, confirming that which they possess, a party of those who have received the Scripture fling the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they knew not, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when there came to them an apostle from Allah, confirming that which is with them, a part of those who were given the Book cast the Book of Allah behind their back, as if they did not know [that it is Allah]s Book]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When a Messenger of God came to them confirming the (original) revelation that they already had received, a group of those who had the Scripture with them, threw the Book of God behind their backs as if they did not know anything about it. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Whenever a messenger from God has come to them, fulfilling that [predictions] which they already had, some of those to whom the Book was given have cast off the Book of God behind their backs as if they had no knowledge. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جب ان کے پاس خدا کی طرف سے سابق کی کتابوں کی تصدیق کرنے والا رسول آیا تو اہلِ کتاب کی ایک جماعت نے کتابِ خدا کو پبُ پشت ڈال دیا جیسے وہ اسے جانتے ہی نہ ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی طرف سے کوئی رسول اس کتاب کی تصدیق و تائید کرتا ہوا آیا جو ان کے ہاں پہلے سے موجود تھی، تو اِن اہل کتاب میں سے ایک گروہ نے کتاب اللہ کو اس طرح پس پشت ڈالا، گویا کہ وہ کچھ جانتے ہی نہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب ان کے پاس تشریف لایا اللہ کے یہاں سے ایک رسول ان کی کتابوں کی تصدیق فرماتا تو کتاب والوں سے ایک گروہ نے اللہ کی کتاب پیٹھ پیچھے پھینک دی گویا وہ کچھ علم ہی نہیں رکھتے - - Ahmed Raza

اور جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی طرف سے وہ رسول (حضرت محمد(ص)) آیا جو ان کے پاس والی کتاب کی تصدیق کرنے والا ہے تو انہی اہل کتاب میں سے ایک گروہ نے کتابِ خدا (توراۃ) کو اس طرح پس پشت ڈال دیا کہ جیسے کہ وہ اسے جانتے ہی نہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
