فَٱذْكُرُونِىٓ
Thus remember Me,
أَذْكُرْكُمْ
I remember you,
وَٱشْكُرُوا۟
and be thankful
لِى
for Me
وَلَا
and do not
تَكْفُرُونِ
be in denial.
Thus remember Me, I remember you, and be thankful for Me and do not be in denial.

are of firm conviction!
ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟
Be aided
بِٱلصَّبْرِ
with perseverance
وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
and the disciplined unity;
ۚ
إِنَّ
surely is
ٱللَّهَ
the One
مَعَ
with
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
the persevering ones.
٢
١٥٣
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ O you of the ones who are of firm conviction! Be aided with perseverance and the disciplined unity; surely is the One with the persevering ones.

O ye who believe! Seek help in steadfastness and prayer. Lo! Allah is with the steadfast. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O you who have faith! Take recourse in patience and prayer; indeed Allah is with the patient. - Qarai, Ali Quli

وَلَا
And do not
تَقُولُوا۟
declare
لِمَن
for those who
يُقْتَلُ
have been killed
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
path of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
أَمْوَٰتٌۢ
as dead.
ۚ
بَلْ
No!
أَحْيَآءٌۭ
They are thriving
وَلَٰكِن
when in fact
لَّا
not
تَشْعُرُونَ
you comprehend.
٢
١٥٤
وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَن يُقْتَلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتٌۢ ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌۭ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَشْعُرُونَ And do not declare for those who have been killed in path of the One as dead. No! They are thriving when in fact not you comprehend.

And call not those who are slain in the way of Allah [dead.] Nay, they are living, only ye perceive not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Do not call those who were slain in Allah]s way [dead.] No, they are living, but you are not aware. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Do not consider those who are slain for the cause of God to be dead. They are alive but you are unaware of them. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And do not speak of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead; nay, (they are) alive, but you do not perceive. - Shakir, Habib

اور جو لوگ راہ هخدا میں قتل ہوجاتے ہیں انہیں مفِدہ نہ کہو بلکہ وہ زندہ ہیں لیکن تمہیں ان کی زندگی کا شعور نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

And We will test you

وَنَقْصٍۢ
and loss
مِّنَ
from
ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ
the belongings,
وَٱلْأَنفُسِ
and yourself,
وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
and the results;
ۗ
وَبَشِّرِ
but give good news to
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
the persevering.
٢
١٥٥
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْخَوْفِ وَٱلْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ And We will test you with things of fear, and hunger, and loss from the belongings, and yourself, and the results; but give good news to the persevering.

And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We will surely test you with a measure of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth, lives, and fruits; and give good news to the patient - Qarai, Ali Quli

اور ہم ضرور تمہیں خوف و خطر، فاقہ کشی، جان و مال کے نقصانات اور آمدنیوں کے گھاٹے میں مبتلا کر کے تمہاری آزمائش کریں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ضرور ہم تمہیں آزمائیں گے کچھ ڈر اور بھوک سے اور کچھ مالوں اور جانوں اور پھلوں کی کمی سے اور خوشخبری سنا ان صبر والوں کو - - Ahmed Raza

ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who,
إِذَآ
whenever
أَصَٰبَتْهُم
befell at them
مُّصِيبَةٌۭ
trouble,
قَالُوٓا۟
said,
إِنَّا
[Certainly we
لِلَّهِ
belong to the One,
وَإِنَّآ
and certainly we
إِلَيْهِ
to Him
رَٰجِعُونَ
are returning].

١٥٦
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَٰبَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌۭ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ Those who, whenever befell at them trouble, said, [Certainly we belong to the One, and certainly we to Him are returning].
⦿
Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
—those who, when an affliction visits them, say, [Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him do we indeed return.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
and in difficulty say, [We are the servants of God and to Him we shall all return]. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Who, when a misfortune befalls them, say: Surely we are Allah's and to Him we shall surely return. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
Those who say, when afflicted with a calamity, [We belong to God and to Him we shall return,] - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
جو مصیبت پڑنے کے بعد یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ ہی کے لئے ہیں اور اسی کی بارگاہ میں واپس جانے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan
⦿
اِن حالات میں جو لوگ صبر کریں اور جب کوئی مصیبت پڑے، تو کہیں کہ: ——ہم اللہ ہی کے ہیں اور اللہ ہی کی طرف ہمیں پلٹ کر جانا ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

کہ جب ان پر کوئی مصیبت پڑے تو کہیں ہم اللہ کے مال ہیں اور ہم کو اسی کی طرف پھرنا- - Ahmed Raza

کہ جب بھی ان پر کوئی مصیبت آپڑے تو وہ کہتے ہیں بے شک ہم صرف اللہ ہی کے لیے ہیں۔ اور اسی کی طرف پلٹ کر جانے والے ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Those are
عَلَيْهِمْ

صَلَوَٰتٌۭ
reinforcements

their Rabb
وَرَحْمَةٌۭ
and favours,
ۖ
وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
and they
هُمُ
are
ٱلْمُهْتَدُونَ
the guided ones.

١٥٧
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَٰتٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌۭ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُهْتَدُونَ Those are upon whom are reinforcements of their Rabb and favours, and they are the guided ones.

Such are they on whom are blessings from their Lord, and mercy. Such are the rightly guided. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

It is they who receive the blessings of their Lord and [His] mercy, and it is they who are the [rightly] guided. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
It is they who will receive blessings and mercy from God and who follow the right guidance. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Those are they on whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord, and those are the followers of the right course. - Shakir, Habib

Lo! (the mountains) As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the indications of Allah. It is therefore no sin for him who is on pilgrimage to the House (of Allah) or visiteth it, to go around them (as the pagan custom is). And he who doeth good of his own accord, (for him) lo! Allah is Responsive, Aware. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed Safa and Marwah are among Allah]s sacraments. So whoever makes hajj to the House, or performs the [umrah, there is no sin upon him to circuit between them. Should anyone do good of his own accord, then Allah is indeed appreciative, all-knowing. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Safa and Marwah (names of two places in Mecca) are reminders of God. It is no sin for one who visits the Sacred House (in Mecca) to walk seven times between (Safa and Marwah.) Whoever willingly does a good deed in obedience to God, will find God All-knowing and Fully Appreciative. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Surely the Safa and the Marwa are among the signs appointed by Allah; so whoever makes a pilgrimage to the House or pays a visit (to it), there is no blame on him if he goes round them both; and whoever does good spontaneously, then surely Allah is Grateful, Knowing. - Shakir, Habib

Safa and Marwah are among the symbols set up by God; there is nothing wrong if anyone goes on a pilgrimage to the House, or performs a minor pilgrimage, in walking to and fro between them. Of anyone who does good of his own accord, God is appreciative, and aware. - Wahiduddin Khan

یقیناً صفا اور مَروہ، اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے ہیں لہٰذا جو شخص بیت اللہ کا حج یا عمرہ کرے، اس کے لیے کوئی گناہ کی بات نہیں کہ وہ اِن دونوں پہاڑیوں کے درمیان سعی کر لے اور جو برضا و رغبت کوئی بھلائی کا کام کرے گا، اللہ کو اس کا علم ہے او ر وہ اس کی قدر کرنے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بیشک صفا اور مروہ اللہ کے نشانوں سے ہیں تو جو اس گھر کا حج یا عمرہ کرے اس پر کچھ گناہ نہیں کہ ان دونوں کے پھیرے کرے اور جو کوئی بھلی بات اپنی طرف سے کرے تو اللہ نیکی کا صلہ دینے خبردار ہے- - Ahmed Raza

إِنَّ
Surely
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
يَكْتُمُونَ
conceal
مَآ
what
أَنزَلْنَا
We have alighted
مِنَ
of
ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
the clarifications
وَٱلْهُدَىٰ
and the guidance,
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
what
بَيَّنَّٰهُ
it clarifies
لِلنَّاسِ
for the people
فِى
in
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
the Book,
ۙ
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
those are the ones
يَلْعَنُهُمُ
whom condemns
ٱللَّهُ
the One,
وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ
and they are cursed at by
ٱللَّٰعِنُونَ
the ones who curse.
٢
١٥٩
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلْهُدَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا بَيَّنَّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ۙ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّٰعِنُونَ Surely the ones who conceal what We have alighted of the clarifications and the guidance, from after what it clarifies for the people in the Book, those are the ones whom condemns the One, and they are cursed at by the ones who curse.

Lo! Those who hide the proofs and the guidance which We revealed, after We had made it clear to mankind in the Scripture: such are accursed of Allah and accursed of those who have the power to curse. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed those who conceal what We have sent down of manifest proofs and guidance, after We have clarified it in the Book for mankind—they shall be cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers, - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those who hide the authoritative proofs and the guidance that We have revealed, after it has been made clear for the People of the Book, will be condemned by God and those who have the right to condemn. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Surely those who conceal the clear proofs and the guidance that We revealed after We made it clear in the Book for men, these it is whom Allah shall curse, and those who curse shall curse them (too). - Shakir, Habib

إِلَّا
Except for
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
تَابُوا۟
repent
وَأَصْلَحُوا۟
and take corrective measures
وَبَيَّنُوا۟
and become distinct (from the condemned),
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
thus those are whom
أَتُوبُ
I have forgiveness
عَلَيْهِمْ
upon;
ۚ
وَأَنَا
and I am
ٱلتَّوَّابُ
the Forgiver,
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Gracious.
٢
١٦٠
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ وَبَيَّنُوا۟ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَأَنَا ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ Except for those who repent and take corrective measures and become distinct (from the condemned), thus those are whom I have forgiveness upon; and I am the Forgiver, the Gracious.

Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth). These it is toward whom I relent. I am the Relenting, the Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

except such as repent, make amends, and clarify—those I shall pardon, and I am the All-clement, the All-merciful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

However, I shall accept the repentance of those of them who repent for their sins, reform their manners, and preach the truth; I am All-forgiving and All-merciful. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth), these it is to whom I turn (mercifully); and I am the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. - Shakir, Habib

علاوہ ان لوگوں کے جو توبہ کرلیں اور اپنے کئے کی اصلاح کرلیں اور جس کو چھپایا ہے اس کو واضح کردیں تو ہم ان کی توبہ قبول کرلیتے ہیں کہ ہم بہترین توبہ قبول کرنے والے اور مہربان ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

البتہ جو اس روش سے باز آ جائیں اور اپنے طرز عمل کی اصلاح کر لیں اور جو کچھ چھپاتے تھے، اُسے بیان کرنے لگیں، اُن کو میں معاف کر دوں گا اور میں بڑا در گزر کرنے والا اور رحم کرنے والا ہوں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

مگر وہ جو توبہ کریں اور سنواریں اور ظاہر کریں تو میں ان کی توبہ قبول فرماؤں گا اور میں ہی ہوں بڑا توبہ قبول فرمانے والا مہربان، - Ahmed Raza

مگر وہ جنہوں نے (حق پر پردہ ڈالنے سے) توبہ کی اور اپنی اصلاح کر لی۔ اور (حق بات کو) ظاہر کر دیا یہ وہ ہیں جن کی میں توبہ قبول کروں گا (انہیں معاف کر دوں گا) اور میں بڑا توبہ قبول کرنے والا اور رحم کرنے والا (مہربان) ہوں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

إِنَّ
Surely
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَفَرُوا۟
are in denial
وَمَاتُوا۟
— and die
وَهُمْ
while they were
كُفَّارٌ
in denial —
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
those are
عَلَيْهِمْ
upon whom is
لَعْنَةُ
damnation of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
and the malaikati,
وَٱلنَّاسِ
and the people
أَجْمَعِينَ
all together.
٢
١٦١
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ Surely the ones who are in denial — and die while they were in denial — those are upon whom is damnation of the One and the malaikati, and the people all together.

Lo! Those who disbelieve, and die while they are disbelievers; on them is the curse of Allah and of angels and of men combined. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed those who turn faithless and die while they are faithless—it is they on whom shall be the curse of Allah, the angels and all mankind. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those who deny My existence and die with such attitude will be subject to the condemnation of God, the angels, and all people. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Surely those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers, these it is on whom is the curse of Allah and the angels and men all; - Shakir, Habib

Immortalized
فِيهَا
therein (in damnation);
ۖ
لَا
not
يُخَفَّفُ
will be decreased
عَنْهُمُ
on them
ٱلْعَذَابُ
the punishment,
وَلَا
and not
هُمْ
they
يُنظَرُونَ
will be looked upon.
Immortalized therein (in damnation); not will be decreased on them the punishment, and not they will be looked upon.
⦿
They ever dwell therein. The doom will not be lightened for them, neither will they be reprieved. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They will remain in it [forever] and their punishment shall not be lightened, nor will they be granted any respite. - Qarai, Ali Quli

They will live condemned forever, will have no relief from the torment, and no attention will be paid to them. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Abiding in it; their chastisement shall not be lightened nor shall they be given respite. - Shakir, Habib

وہ اسی لعنت میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے کہ نہ ان کے عذاب میں تخفیف ہوگی اور نہ انہیں مہلت دی جائے گی - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اسی لعنت زدگی کی حالت میں وہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے، نہ اُن کی سز امیں تخفیف ہوگی اور نہ انہیں پھر کوئی دوسری مہلت دی جائے گی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

ہمیشہ رہیں گے اس میں نہ ان پر سے عذاب ہلکا ہو اور نہ انہیں مہلت دی جائے، - Ahmed Raza

وہ اس (لعنت) میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے نہ تو ان کے عذاب میں کوئی کمی کی جائے گی۔ اور نہ ہی انہیں کوئی مہلت دی جائے گی۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
