وَلَقَدْ
And certainly
صَرَّفْنَا
We have made distinct
لِلنَّاسِ
for the people
فِى
in
هَٰذَا
this
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
Proclamation
مِن
from
كُلِّ
all
مَثَلٍۢ
similes,
فَأَبَىٰٓ
but still refuse
أَكْثَرُ
most of
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
إِلَّا
(all similes and evidences) except
كُفُورًۭا
being in denial.
١٧
٨٩
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِى هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍۢ فَأَبَىٰٓ أَكْثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورًۭا And certainly We have made distinct for the people in this Proclamation from all similes, but still refuse most of the people (all similes and evidences) except being in denial.

And verily We have displayed for mankind in this Qur'an all kind of similitudes, but most of mankind refuse aught save disbelief. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اور ہم نے اس قرآن میں ساری مثالیں اُلٹ پلٹ کر بیان کردی ہیں لیکن اس کے بعد پھر بھی اکثر لوگوں نے کفر کے علاوہ ہر بات سے انکار کردیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور ان لوگوں نے کہنا شروع کردیا کہ ہم تم پر ایمان نہ لائیں گے جب تک ہمارے لئے زمین سے چشمہ نہ جاری کردو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور انہوں نے کہا ——ہم تیر ی بات نہ مانیں گے جب تک کہ تو ہمارے لیے زمین کو پھاڑ کر ایک چشمہ جاری نہ کر دے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور بولے کہ ہم تم پر ہرگز ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ تم ہمارے لیے زمین سے کوئی چشمہ بہا دو - Ahmed Raza

Or thou have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth therein abundantly; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Or thou cause the heaven to fall upon us piecemeal, as thou hast pretended, or bring Allah and the angels as a warrant; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Or thou have a house of gold; or thou ascend up into heaven, and even then we will put no faith in thine ascension till thou bring down for us a book that we can read. Say (O Muhammad): My Lord be Glorified! Am I aught save a mortal messenger? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And naught prevented mankind from believing when the guidance came unto them save that they said: Hath Allah sent a mortal as (His) messenger? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Nothing has kept these people from believing when guidance came to them, but their saying, [Has Allah sent a human as an apostle?!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

What keeps people from belief that guidance has come to them, but they question, [Why has God sent a mortal Messenger?] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And nothing prevented people from believing when the guidance came to them except that they said: What! has Allah raised up a mortal to be an apostle? - Shakir, Habib

Nothing has prevented men from believing whenever guidance came to them, save their query, [Has God sent a human being as a messenger?] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہدایت کے آجانے کے بعد لوگوں کے لئے ایمان لانے سے کوئی شے مانع نہیں ہوئی مگر یہ کہ کہنے لگے کہ کیا خدا نے کسی بشر کو رسول بناکر بھیج دیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

لوگوں کے سامنے جب کبھی ہدایت آئی تو اس پر ایمان لانے سے اُن کو کسی چیز نے نہیں روکا مگر اُن کے اِسی قول نے کہ ——کیا اللہ نے بشر کو پیغمبر بنا کر بھیج دیا؟—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Say: If there were in the earth angels walking secure, We had sent down for them from heaven an angel as messenger. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say,
كَفَىٰ

بِٱللَّهِ
with the One

as a witness

كَانَ
has been
بِعِبَادِهِۦ
about His servants
خَبِيرًۢا
knowledged,
بَصِيرًۭا
watchful.]

قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًۢا بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًۢا بَصِيرًۭا Say, [I suffice with the One as a witness between me and between you all, indeed He has been about His servants knowledged, watchful.]

And he whom Allah guideth, he is led aright; while, as for him whom He sendeth astray, for them thou wilt find no protecting friends beside Him, and We shall assemble them on the Day of Resurrection on their faces, blind, dumb and deaf; their habitation will be hell; whenever it abateth, We increase the flame for them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Whomever Allah guides is rightly guided, and whomever He leads astray—you will never for find them any guardians besides Him. On the Day of Resurrection, We shall muster them [scrambling] on their faces, blind, dumb, and deaf. Their refuge shall be hell. Whenever it subsides, We shall intensify the blaze for them. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Whomever God has guided has the proper guidance. You will never find any guardian besides God for the one whom He has caused to go astray. On the Day of Judgment, We will gather them lying on their faces, blind, dumb and deaf. Hell will be their dwelling. As hell fire abates, We will increase its blazing force. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And whomsoever Allah guides, he is the follower of the right way, and whomsoever He causes to err, you shall not find for him guardians besides Him; and We will gather them together on the day of resurrection on their faces, blind and dumb and deaf; their abode is hell; whenever it becomes allayed We will add to their burning. - Shakir, Habib

Those whom God guides are the truly guided, and for those whom He lets go astray, you will find no helper besides Him, on the Day of Judgement. اور جس کو خدا ہدایت د ے دے وہی ہدایت یافتہ ہے اور جس کو گمراہی میں چھوڑ دے اس کے لئے اس کے علاوہ کوئی مددگار نہ پاؤ گے اور ہم انہیں روز قیامت منہ کے بل گونگے اندھے بہرے محشور کریں گے اور ان کا ٹھکانا جہنم ّہوگا کہ جس کی آگ بجھنے بھی لگے گی تو ہم شعلوں کو مزید بھڑکا دیں گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جس کو اللہ ہدایت دے وہی ہدایت پانے والا ہے، اور جسے وہ گمراہی میں ڈال دے تو اسکے سوا ایسے لوگوں کے لیے تو کوئی حامی و ناصر نہیں پا سکتا ان لوگوں کو ہم قیامت کے روز اوندھے منہ کھینچ لائیں گے، اندھے، گونگے اور بہرے اُن کا ٹھکانا جہنم ہے جب کبھی اس کی آگ دھیمی ہونے لگے گی ہم اسے اور بھڑکا دیں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جسے اللہ راہ دے وہی راہ پر ہے اور جسے گمراہ کرے تو ان کے لیے اس کے سوا کوئی حمایت والے نہ پاؤ گے اور ہم انہیں قیامت کے دن ان کے منہ کے بل اٹھائیں گے اندھے اور گونگے اور بہرے ان کا ٹھکانا جہنم ہے جب کبھی بجھنے پر آئے گی ہم اسے اور بھڑکادیں گے، - Ahmed Raza

ذَٰلِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم بِأَنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَقَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمًۭا وَرُفَٰتًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ خَلْقًۭا جَدِيدًا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

That is their reward because they disbelieved Our revelations and said: When we are bones and fragments shall we, forsooth, be raised up as a new creation? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

That is their requital because they defied Our signs and said, [What, when we have become bones and dust, shall we really be raised in a new creation?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

This will be the recompense for their disbelief of Our revelations and for their saying, [Shall we be brought to life again after becoming bones and dust?] - Sarwar, Muhammad

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَهُمْ أَجَلًۭا لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ فَأَبَى ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ إِلَّا كُفُورًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Have they not seen that Allah Who created the heavens and the earth is Able to create the like of them, and hath appointed for them an end whereof there is no doubt? But the wrong-doers refuse aught save disbelief. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

کیا ان کو یہ نہ سوجھا کہ جس خدا نے زمین اور آسمانو ں کو پیدا کیا ہے وہ اِن جیسوں کو پیدا کرنے کی ضرور قدرت رکھتا ہے؟ اس نے اِن کے حشر کے لیے ایک وقت مقرر کر رکھا ہے جس کا آنا یقینی ہے، مگر ظالموں کو اصرار ہے کہ وہ اس کا انکار ہی کریں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala
