أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ يَبْتَغُونَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمُ ٱلْوَسِيلَةَ أَيُّهُمْ أَقْرَبُ وَيَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَهُۥ وَيَخَافُونَ عَذَابَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ كَانَ مَحْذُورًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Those unto whom they cry seek the way of approach to their Lord, which of them shall be the nearest; they hope for His mercy and they fear His doom. Lo! the doom of thy Lord is to be shunned. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They [themselves] are the ones who supplicate, seeking a recourse to their Lord, whoever is nearer [to Him], expecting His mercy and fearing His punishment.] Indeed your Lord]s punishment is a thing to beware of. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those whom they worship seek to find intercessors for themselves with God. (They try to find out which of the intercessors) are closer to God. They have hope for His mercy and fear of His punishment; the punishment of your Lord is awesome. - Sarwar, Muhammad

There is not a township but We shall destroy it ere the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with dire punishment. That is set forth in the Book (of Our decrees). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Naught hindereth Us from sending portents save that the folk of old denied them. And We gave Thamud the she-camel - a clear portent save to warn. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Nothing keeps Us from sending signs except that the former peoples denied them. We gave Thamud the she-camel as an eye-opener, but they wronged her. We do not send the signs except as warning. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We did not abstain from sending miracles to any of Our Messengers. These miracles were called lies by the people who lived in ancient times. To the people of Thamud, We sent the she-camel as a visible miracle and they did injustice to it. We only send miracles as warnings. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور ہم کو نشانیاں بھیجنے سے نہیں روکا مگر اس بات نے کہ اِن سے پہلے کے لوگ اُن کو جھٹلا چکے ہیں (چنانچہ دیکھ لو) ثمود کو ہم نے علانیہ اونٹنی لا کر دی اور اُنہوں نے اس پر ظلم کیا ہم نشانیاں اسی لیے تو بھیجتے ہیں کہ لوگ انہیں دیکھ کر ڈریں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لَكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ أَحَاطَ بِٱلنَّاسِ ۚ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا ٱلرُّءْيَا ٱلَّتِىٓ أَرَيْنَٰكَ إِلَّا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلنَّاسِ وَٱلشَّجَرَةَ ٱلْمَلْعُونَةَ فِى ٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚ وَنُخَوِّفُهُمْ فَمَا يَزِيدُهُمْ إِلَّا طُغْيَٰنًۭا كَبِيرًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And (it was a warning) when we told thee: Lo! thy Lord encompasseth mankind, and We appointed the sight which We showed thee as an ordeal for mankind, and (likewise) the Accursed Tree in the Qur'an. We warn them, but it increaseth them in naught save gross impiety. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When We said to you, [Indeed your Lord encircles those people,] We did not appoint the vision that We showed you except as a tribulation for the people and the tree cursed in the Quran. We warn them, but it only increases them in their outrageous rebellion. - Qarai, Ali Quli

یاد کرو اے محمدؐ، ہم نے تم سے کہہ دیا تھا کہ تیرے رب نے اِن لوگوں کو گھیر رکھا ہے اور یہ جو کچھ ابھی ہم نے تمہیں دکھایا ہے، اِس کو اور اُس درخت کو جس پر قرآن میں لعنت کی گئی ہے، ہم نے اِن لوگوں کے لیے بس ایک فتنہ بنا کر رکھ دیا ہم اِنہیں تنبیہ پر تنبیہ کیے جا رہے ہیں، مگر ہر تنبیہ اِن کی سر کشی ہی میں اضافہ کیے جاتی ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب ہم نے تم سے فرمایا کہ سب لوگ تمہارے رب کے قابو میں ہیں اور ہم نے نہ کیا وہ دکھاوا جو تمہیں دکھایا تھا مگر لوگوں کی آزمائش کو اور وہ پیڑ جس پر قرآن میں لعنت ہے اور ہم انہیں ڈراتے ہیں تو انھیں نہیں بڑھتی مگر بڑی سرکشی، - Ahmed Raza

And when We said unto the angels: Fall down prostrate before Adam and they fell prostrate all save Iblis, he said: Shall I fall prostrate before that which Thou hast created of clay? - Pickthall, Marmaduke
