ثُمَّ
Then,
إِنَّ
surely
رَبَّكَ
your Rabb
لِلَّذِينَ
for the ones who
عَمِلُوا۟
did
ٱلسُّوٓءَ
bad
بِجَهَٰلَةٍۢ
through ignorance,
ثُمَّ
but then
تَابُوا۟
repent
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
ذَٰلِكَ
that
وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟
and take corrective measures,
إِنَّ
it is that
رَبَّكَ
your Rabb
مِنۢ
of
بَعْدِهَا
after that is
لَغَفُورٌۭ
forgiving,
رَّحِيمٌ
merciful.
١٦
١١٩
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٍۢ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ Then, surely your Rabb for the ones who did bad through ignorance, but then repent from after that and take corrective measures, it is that your Rabb of after that is forgiving, merciful.

Then lo! thy Lord - for those who do evil in ignorance and afterward repent and amend - lo! (for them) thy Lord is afterward indeed Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Moreover, your Lord will indeed be forgiving and merciful to those who repent after they having committed evil out of ignorance and reform themselves. - Qarai, Ali Quli

To those who commit sins in their ignorance then repent and reform, your Lord is certainly All-forgiving and All-merciful. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Yet surely your Lord, with respect to those who do an evil in ignorance, then turn after that and make amends, most surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful. - Shakir, Habib

اس کے بعد تمہارا پروردگار ان لوگوں کے لئے جنہوں نے نادانی میں برائیاں کی ہیں اور اس کے بعد توبہ بھی کرلی ہے اور اپنے کو سدھار بھی لیا ہے تمہارا پروردگار ان باتوں کے بعد بہت بڑا بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

البتہ جن لوگوں نے جہالت کی بنا پر برا عمل کیا اور پھر توبہ کر کے اپنے عمل کی اصلاح کر لی تو یقیناً توبہ و اصلاح کے بعد تیرا رب اُن کے لیے غفور اور رحیم ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر بیشک تمہارا رب ان کے لیے جو نادانی سے برائی کر بیٹھیں پھر اس کے بعد توبہ کریں اور سنور جائیں بیشک تمہارا رب اس کے بعد ضرور بخشنے والا مہربان ہے، - Ahmed Raza

إِنَّ
Surely,
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Ibrahim
كَانَ
was
أُمَّةًۭ
a nation
قَانِتًۭا
obedient
لِّلَّهِ
for the One
حَنِيفًۭا
as secular (obedient to only One authority),
وَلَمْ
and not
يَكُ
was he like
مِنَ
from
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
the ones who add partners.
Surely, Ibrahim was a nation obedient for the One as secular (obedient to only One authority), and not was he like from the ones who add partners.

Lo! Abraham was a nation obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the idolaters; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed Abraham was a nation [all by himself], obedient to Allah, a Hanif, and he was not a polytheist. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(He was) thankful
لِّأَنْعُمِهِ
for being blessed;
ۚ
ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ
selected him
وَهَدَىٰهُ
and guided him
إِلَىٰ
towards
صِرَٰطٍۢ
the path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ
that is stable.
(He was) thankful for being blessed; selected him and guided him towards the path that is stable.

Thankful for His bounties; He chose him and He guided him unto a straight path. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ
And We gave him
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the World
حَسَنَةًۭ
goodness;
ۖ
وَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed he
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
the forth-coming
لَمِنَ
is from those
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
who are the constructive workers.
And We gave him in the World goodness; and indeed he in the forth-coming is from those who are the constructive workers.

And We gave him good in the world, and in the Hereafter he is among the righteous. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then
أَوْحَيْنَآ
We inspired
إِلَيْكَ
to you
أَنِ
that,
ٱتَّبِعْ
[Adhere to
مِلَّةَ
creed of
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Ibrahim
حَنِيفًۭا
as secular (obedient to only One authority),
ۖ
وَمَا
and not
كَانَ
he was
مِنَ
from
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
the ones who add partners.]

١٢٣
ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ Then We inspired to you that, [Adhere to creed of Ibrahim as secular (obedient to only One authority), and not he was from the ones who add partners.]
⦿
And afterward We inspired thee (Muhammad, saying): Follow the religion of Abraham, as one by nature upright. He was not of the idolaters. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Thereafter We revealed to you [saying], [Follow the creed of Abraham, a Hanif, who was not a polytheist.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

We sent you, (Muhammad), a revelation that you should follow the tradition of Abraham, the upright one, who was not a pagan. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Then We revealed to you: Follow the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and he was not of the polytheists. - Shakir, Habib

Then We revealed Our will to you [O Muhammad], saying, [Follow the religion of Abraham, the upright in faith; he was not one of the polytheists.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اس کے بعد ہم نے آپ کی طرف وحی کی کہ ابراہیم علیھ السّلام حنیف کے طریقہ کا اتباع کریں کہ وہ مشرکین میں سے نہیں تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر ہم نے تمہاری طرف یہ وحی بھیجی کہ یک سو ہو کر ابراہیمؑ کے طریقے پر چلو اور وہ مشرکوں میں سے نہ تھا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر ہم نے تمہیں وحی بھیجی کہ دین ابراہیم کی پیروی کرو جو ہر باطل سے الگ تھا اور مشرک نہ تھا، - Ahmed Raza

إِنَّمَا
Indeed
جُعِلَ
was put up
ٱلسَّبْتُ
the Sabbath (an exclusive day for not doing anything)
عَلَى
upon
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟
disputed
فِيهِ
in it (Ibrahim's Creed);
ۚ
وَإِنَّ
and indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Rabb
لَيَحْكُمُ
is to judge
بَيْنَهُمْ
between them
يَوْمَ
on day of
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
the establishment
فِيمَا
in what
كَانُوا۟
they were
فِيهِ
in it
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
disputing.
١٦
١٢٤
إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ٱلسَّبْتُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ ۚ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ Indeed was put up the Sabbath (an exclusive day for not doing anything) upon the ones who disputed in it (Ibrahim's Creed); and indeed your Rabb is to judge between them on day of the establishment in what they were in it disputing.

The Sabbath was appointed only for those who differed concerning it, and lo! thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they used to differ. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The Sabbath was only prescribed for those who differed about it. Your Lord will indeed judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that about which they differ. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(The observance) of the Sabbath was only sanctioned for those who disputed it. Your Lord will certainly issue His decree about their dispute on the Day of Judgment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

The Sabbath was ordained only for those who differed about it, and most surely your Lord will judge between them on the resurrection day concerning that about which they differed. - Shakir, Habib

ہفتہ کے دن کی تعظیم صرف ان لوگوں کے لئے قرار دی گئی تھی جو اس کے بارے میں اختلاف کررہے تھے اور آپ کا پروردگار روز قیامت ان تمام باتوں کا فیصلہ کردے گا جن میں یہ لوگ اختلاف کررہے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

رہا سبت، تو وہ ہم نے اُن لوگوں پر مسلط کیا تھا جنہوں نے اس کے احکام میں اختلاف کیا، اور یقیناً تیرا رب قیامت کے روز ان سب باتوں کا فیصلہ کر دے گا جن میں وہ اختلاف کرتے رہے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

ہفتہ تو انہیں پر رکھا گیا تھا جو اس میں مختلف ہوگئے اور بیشک تمہارا رب قیا مت کے دن ان میں فیصلہ کردے گا جس بات میں اختلاف کرتے تھے، - Ahmed Raza

(باقی رہا) سبت (کے احترام کا معاملہ) تو یہ صرف ان لوگوں پر عائد کیا گیا تھا جنہوں نے اس کے بارے میں اختلاف کیا تھا اور اللہ قیامت کے دن ان کے درمیان فیصلہ کرے گا ان باتوں کے بارے میں جن میں وہ باہم اختلاف کرتے تھے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

ٱدْعُ
Call
إِلَىٰ
towards
سَبِيلِ
way of
رَبِّكَ
your Master
بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ
with the Wisdom,
وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ
and the Advice
ٱلْحَسَنَةِ
that is good,
ۖ
وَجَٰدِلْهُم
and have argument with them
بِٱلَّتِى
with that
هِىَ
which is
أَحْسَنُ
appealing;
ۚ
إِنَّ
indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Rabb
هُوَ
is
أَعْلَمُ
knowing
بِمَن
about who
ضَلَّ
strayed
عَن
against
سَبِيلِهِۦ
His way;
ۖ
وَهُوَ
and He is
أَعْلَمُ
knowing
بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
about the ones who are guided.
١٦
١٢٥
ٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَٰدِلْهُم بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ Call towards way of your Master with the Wisdom, and the Advice that is good, and have argument with them with that which is appealing; indeed your Rabb is knowing about who strayed against His way; and He is knowing about the ones who are guided.

Call unto the way of thy Lord with wisdom and fair exhortation, and reason with them in the better way. Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth from His way, and He is Best Aware of those who go aright. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good advice and dispute with them in a manner that is best. Indeed your Lord knows best those who stray from His way, and He knows best those who are guided. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Call (the pagans) to the path of your Lord through wisdom and good advice and argue with them in the best manner. God knows well about those who stray from His path and those who seek guidance. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and have disputations with them in the best manner; surely your Lord best knows those who go astray from His path, and He knows best those who follow the right way. - Shakir, Habib

آپ اپنے رب کے راستے کی طرف حکمت اور اچھی نصیحت کے ذریعہ دعوت دیں اور ان سے اس طریقہ سے بحث کریں جو بہترین طریقہ ہے کہ آپ کا پروردگار بہتر جانتا ہے کہ کون اس کے راستے سے بہک گیا ہے اور کون لوگ ہدایت پانے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے نبیؐ، اپنے رب کے راستے کی طرف دعوت دو حکمت اور عمدہ نصیحت کے ساتھ، اور لوگوں سے مباحثہ کرو ایسے طریقہ پر جو بہترین ہو تمہارا رب ہی زیادہ بہتر جانتا ہے کہ کون اس کی راہ سے بھٹکا ہوا ہے اور کون راہ راست پر ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اپنے رب کی راہ کی طرف بلاؤ پکی تدبیر اور اچھی نصیحت سے اور ان سے اس طریقہ پر بحث کرو جو سب سے بہتر ہو بیشک تمہارا رب خوب جانتا ہے جو اس کی راہ سے بہکا اور وہ خوب جانتا ہے راہ والوں کو، - Ahmed Raza

(اے پیغمبر(ص)) آپ اپنے پروردگار کے راستے کی طرف (لوگوں کو) بلائیں حکمت اور عمدہ نصیحت کے ساتھ اور لوگوں سے بہترین انداز میں بحث و مباحثہ کریں۔ آپ کا پروردگار ہی بہتر جانتا ہے کہ اس کے راستہ سے بھٹکا ہوا کون ہے اور وہی بہتر جانتا ہے کہ ہدایت یافتہ کون ہے؟ - Najafi, Muhammad
