ذَٰلِكَ
That is
بِأَنَّهُمُ
because they
ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟
are in admiration of
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
the life of
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the World
عَلَى
instead of
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
the forthcoming,
وَأَنَّ
and certainly
ٱللَّهَ
the One
لَا
not
يَهْدِى
guides
ٱلْقَوْمَ
the nation of
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
the denying people.
١٦
١٠٧
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ That is because they are in admiration of the life of the World instead of the forthcoming, and certainly the One not guides the nation of the denying people.

That is because they have chosen the life of the world rather than the Hereafter, and because Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

That, because they preferred the life of the world to the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the faithless lot. - Qarai, Ali Quli

یہ اس لئے کہ ان لوگوں نے زندگانی دنیا کو آخرت پر مقدم کیا ہے اور اللہ ظالم قوموں کو ہرگز ہدایت نہیں دیتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ اس لیے کہ اُنہوں نے آخرت کے مقابلہ میں دنیا کی زندگی کو پسند کر لیا، اور اللہ کا قاعدہ ہے کہ وہ اُن لوگوں کو راہ نجات نہیں دکھاتا جو اُس کی نعمت کا کفران کریں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

یہ اس لےٴ کہ انھوں نے دنیا کی زندگی آخرت سے پیاری جانی، اور اس لےٴ کہ اللہ (ایسے) کافروں کو راہ نہیں دیتا، - Ahmed Raza

حب | love | admiration | affection | care | grain | endearment | passion | pip | seed
ان | if | had it been | as long as | in case of | if that then | that | time | surely | is it not | at that time
ذا ⇐ ذلك | that | thereof | though | therefrom
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those are
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
طَبَعَ
got stamped by
ٱللَّهُ
the One
عَلَىٰ
upon
قُلُوبِهِمْ
their hearts,
وَسَمْعِهِمْ
and their hearing,
وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ
and their vision;
ۖ
وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
and they are
هُمُ
those who are
ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ
heedless.
١٦
١٠٨
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ Those are the ones who got stamped by the One upon their hearts, and their hearing, and their vision; and they are those who are heedless.

Such are they whose hearts and ears and eyes Allah hath sealed. And such are the heedless. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They are the ones Allah has set a seal on their hearts, their hearing and their sight, and it is they who are the heedless. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God has sealed their hearts, ears and eyes and they are not aware of it. - Sarwar, Muhammad

These are they on whose hearts and their hearing and their eyes Allah has set a seal, and these are the heedless ones. - Shakir, Habib

یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں پر اور آنکھ کان پر کفر کی چھاپ لگا دی گئی ہے اور یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جوحقیقتا حقائق سے غافل ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan
