وَإِذَا
And whenever
بَدَّلْنَآ
We change
ءَايَةًۭ
a sign
مَّكَانَ
in place of
ءَايَةٍۢ
a sign,
ۙ
وَٱللَّهُ
and the One is
أَعْلَمُ
of knowledge
بِمَا
with what
يُنَزِّلُ
He sends down,
قَالُوٓا۟
they say,
إِنَّمَآ
[Certainly
أَنتَ
you are
مُفْتَرٍۭ
an inventor],
ۚ
بَلْ
but
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
many of them are
لَا
not
يَعْلَمُونَ
knowing.
١٦
١٠١
وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَآ ءَايَةًۭ مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٍۢ ۙ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍۭ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ And whenever We change a sign in place of a sign, and the One is of knowledge with what He sends down, they say, [Certainly you are an inventor], but many of them are not knowing.

And when We put a revelation in place of (another) revelation, - and Allah knoweth best what He revealeth - they say: Lo! thou art but inventing. Most of them know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When We change a sign for another in its stead—and Allah knows best what He sends down—they say, [You are indeed a fabricator.] Indeed, most of them do not know. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When God replaces one revelation with another, He knows best what to reveal. But they say, [(Muhammad), you have falsely invented it.] Most people are ignorant. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when We change (one) communication for (another) communication, and Allah knows best what He reveals, they say: You are only a forger. Nay, most of them do not know. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
When We substitute one revelation for another, and God knows best what He reveals, they say, [You are but a fabricator.] Indeed, most of them have no knowledge. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم جب ایک آیت کی جگہ پر دوسری آیت تبدیل کرتے ہیں تو اگرچہ خدا خوب جانتا ہے کہ وہ کیا نازل کررہا ہے لیکن یہ لوگ یہی کہتے ہیں کہ محمد تم افترا کرنے والے ہو حالانکہ ان کی اکثریت کچھ نہیں جانتی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جب ہم ایک آیت کی جگہ دوسری آیت نازل کرتے ہیں اور اللہ بہتر جانتا ہے کہ وہ کیا نازل کرے تو یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ تم یہ قرآن خو د گھڑ تے ہو اصل بات یہ ہے کہ اِن میں سے اکثر لوگ حقیقت سے ناواقف ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب ہم ایک آیت کی جگہ دوسری آیت بدلیں اور اللہ خوب جانتا ہے جو اتارتا ہے کافر کہیں تم تو دل سے بنا لاتے ہو بلکہ ان میں اکثر کو علم نہیں، - Ahmed Raza

اور جب ہم ایک آیت کو کسی اور آیت سے بدلتے ہیں تو اللہ بہتر جانتا ہے کہ وہ کیا نازل کر رہا ہے تو یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ تم (یہ کلام) اپنے دل سے گھڑ لیا کرتے ہو حالانکہ ان میں سے اکثر لوگ (حقیقتِ حال کو) نہیں جانتے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Say,
نَزَّلَهُۥ
[Alighted it
رُوحُ
spirit of
ٱلْقُدُسِ
the dedication
مِن
from
رَّبِّكَ
your Rabb
بِٱلْحَقِّ
with the fact,
لِيُثَبِّتَ
to make firm
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
have conviction,
وَهُدًۭى
and as guidance
وَبُشْرَىٰ
and good news
لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
for the submitters.]
١٦
١٠٢
قُلْ نَزَّلَهُۥ رُوحُ ٱلْقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهُدًۭى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ Say, [Alighted it spirit of the dedication from your Rabb with the fact, to make firm the ones who have conviction, and as guidance and good news for the submitters.]

Say: The holy Spirit hath delivered it from thy Lord with truth, that it may confirm (the faith of) those who believe, and as guidance and good tidings for those who have surrendered (to Allah). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, the Holy Spirit has brought it down duly from your Lord to fortify those who have faith and as guidance and good news for the Muslims. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), say, [The Holy Spirit has brought the Quran from your Lord to you in all truth to strengthen the faith of the believers and to be a guide and glad news for the Muslims]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say: The Holy spirit has revealed it from your Lord with the truth, that it may establish those who believe and as a guidance and good news for those who submit. - Shakir, Habib

Say, [The Holy Spirit has brought it down as truth from your Lord, so that He may strengthen those who believe, and also as guidance and as good tidings for those who submit.] - Wahiduddin Khan

تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اس قرآن کوروح القدس جبرئیل نے تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے حق کے ساتھ نازل کیا ہے تاکہ صاحبانِ ایمان کو ثبات و استقلال عطاکرے اور یہ اطاعت گزاروں کے لئے ایک ہداےت اور بشارت ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن سے کہو کہ اِسے تو روح القدس نے ٹھیک ٹھیک میرے رب کی طرف سے بتدریج نازل کیا ہے تاکہ ایمان لانے والوں کے ایمان کو پختہ کرے اور فرماں برداروں کو زندگی کے معاملات میں سیدھی راہ بتائے اور اُنہیں فلاح و سعادت کی خوش خبری دے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم فرماؤ اسے پاکیزگی کی روح نے اتارا تمہارے رب کی طرف سے ٹھیک ٹھیک کہ اس سے ایمان والوں کو ثابت قدم کرے اور ہدایت اور بشارت مسلمانوں کو، - Ahmed Raza

آپ کہہ دیجیے کہ اس (قرآن) کو تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے روح القدس نے حق کے ساتھ اتارا ہے تاکہ ایمان لانے والوں کو ثابت قدم رکھے اور اطاعت گزاروں کے لئے ہدایت اور نجات کی خوشخبری ثابت ہو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

١٠٣
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُۥ بَشَرٌۭ ۗ لِّسَانُ ٱلَّذِى يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِىٌّۭ وَهَٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِىٌّۭ مُّبِينٌ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And We know well that they say: Only a man teacheth him. The speech of him at whom they falsely hint is outlandish, and this is clear Arabic speech. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We certainly know that they say, [It is only a human that instructs him.] The language of him to whom they refer is non-Arabic, while this is a clear Arabic language. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We know that they say a mere mortal has taught it (the Quran) to him (Muhammad). The language of the person whom they think has taught it to him is not Arabic. This (the Quran) is in illustrious Arabic. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And certainly We know that they say: Only a mortal teaches him. The tongue of him whom they reproach is barbarous, and this is clear Arabic tongue. - Shakir, Habib

Indeed, We know what they say, [It is only a human being who imparts [all] this to him!] But the tongue of him to whom they point is foreign, whereas this is plain Arabic speech. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم خوب جانتے ہیں کہ یہ مشرکین یہ کہتے ہیں کہ انہیں کوئی انسان اس قرآن کی تعلیم دے رہا ہے-حالانکہ جس کی طرف یہ نسبت دیتے ہیں وہ عجمی ہے اور یہ زبان عربی واضح و فصیح ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ہمیں معلوم ہے یہ لوگ تمہارے متعلق کہتے ہیں کہ اس شخص کو ایک آدمی سکھاتا پڑھاتا ہے حالانکہ ان کا اشارہ جس آدمی کی طرف ہے اس کی زبان عجمی ہے اور یہ صاف عربی زبان ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Surely
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
لَا
do not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
have peace of mind
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
regarding the signs of
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
لَا
not
يَهْدِيهِمُ
guides them
ٱللَّهُ
the One
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
عَذَابٌ
a punishment that is
أَلِيمٌ
painful.
١٦
١٠٤
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَهْدِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ Surely the ones who do not have peace of mind regarding the signs of the One, not guides them the One and for them a punishment that is painful.
⦿
Lo! those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, Allah guideth them not and theirs will be a painful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed those who do not believe in the signs of Allah—Allah shall not guide them and there is a painful punishment for them. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God will not guide those who do not believe in His miracles. They will suffer a painful punishment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

(As for) those who do not believe in Allah's communications, surely Allah will not guide them, and they shall have a painful punishment. - Shakir, Habib

Indeed what
يَفْتَرِى
they fabricate is
ٱلْكَذِبَ
the lie
ٱلَّذِينَ
— the ones who
لَا
not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
have conviction
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
about signs of
ٱللَّهِ
the One —
ۖ
وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
and those are
هُمُ
who
ٱلْكَٰذِبُونَ
are liars.
١٦
١٠٥
إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِى ٱلْكَذِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَٰذِبُونَ Indeed what they fabricate is the lie — the ones who not have conviction about signs of the One — and those are who are liars.

Only they invent falsehood who believe not Allah's revelations, and (only) they are the liars. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Only those fabricate lies who do not believe in the signs of Allah, and it is they who are the liars. - Qarai, Ali Quli

مَن كَفَرَ بِٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَٰنِهِۦٓ إِلَّا مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُۥ مُطْمَئِنٌّۢ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ وَلَٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِٱلْكُفْرِ صَدْرًۭا فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Whoso disbelieveth in Allah after his belief - save him who is forced thereto and whose heart is still content with the Faith - but whoso findeth ease in disbelief: On them is wrath from Allah. Theirs will be an awful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Excepting someone who is compelled [to recant his faith] while his heart is at rest in it, those who disbelieve in Allah after [affirming] their faith and open up their breasts to unfaith, Allah]s wrath shall be upon them and there is a great punishment for them. - Qarai, Ali Quli

No one verbally denounces his faith in God - unless he is forced - but his heart is confident about his faith. But those whose breasts have become open to disbelief will be subject to the wrath of God and will suffer a great torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

He who disbelieves in Allah after his having believed, not he who is compelled while his heart is at rest on account of faith, but he who opens (his) breast to disbelief-- on these is the wrath of Allah, and they shall have a grievous chastisement. - Shakir, Habib

As for one who denies God after he has believed, with the exception of one who is forced to do it, while his heart rests securely in faith, but one who opens his heart to a denial of truth shall incur the wrath of God; such as these will have a terrible punishment. - Wahiduddin Khan

جو شخص بھی ایمان لانے کے بعد کفر اختیار کرلے .... علاوہ اس کے کہ جو کفر پر مجبور کردیا جائے اور اس کا دل ایمان کی طرف سے مطمئن ہو ....اور کفر کے لئے سینہ کشادہ رکھتا ہو اس کے اوپر خدا کا غضب ہے اور اس کے لئے بہت بڑا عذاب ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جو شخص ایمان لانے کے بعد کفر کرے (وہ اگر) مجبور کیا گیا ہو اور دل اس کا ایمان پر مطمئن ہو (تب تو خیر) مگر جس نے دل کی رضا مندی سے کفر کو قبول کر لیا اس پر اللہ کا غضب ہے اور ایسے سب لوگوں کے لیے بڑا عذاب ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

جو ایمان لا کر اللہ کا منکر ہو سوا اس کے مجبور کیا جا ےٴ اور اس کا دل ایمان پر جما ہوا ہو، ہاں وہ جو دل کھول کر کافر ہو ان پر اللہ کا غضب ہے اور ان کو بڑاعذاب ہے، - Ahmed Raza

جو کوئی اللہ پر ایمان لانے کے بعد کفر کرے سوائے اس صورت کے کہ اسے مجبور کیا جائے جبکہ اس کا دل ایمان پر مطمئن ہو (کہ اس پر کوئی مؤاخذہ نہیں ہے) لیکن جو کشادہ دلی سے کفر اختیار کرے (زبان سے کفر کرے اور اس کا دل اس کفر پر رضامند ہو) تو ایسے لوگوں پر اللہ کا غضب ہے اور ان کے لئے بڑا عذاب ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

That is
بِأَنَّهُمُ
because they
ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟
are in admiration of
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
the life of
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the World
عَلَى
instead of
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
the forthcoming,
وَأَنَّ
and certainly
ٱللَّهَ
the One
لَا
not
يَهْدِى
guides
ٱلْقَوْمَ
the nation of
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
the denying people.
١٦
١٠٧
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ That is because they are in admiration of the life of the World instead of the forthcoming, and certainly the One not guides the nation of the denying people.

That is because they have chosen the life of the world rather than the Hereafter, and because Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those are
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
طَبَعَ
got stamped by
ٱللَّهُ
the One
عَلَىٰ
upon
قُلُوبِهِمْ
their hearts,
وَسَمْعِهِمْ
and their hearing,
وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ
and their vision;
ۖ
وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
and they are
هُمُ
those who are
ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ
heedless.
١٦
١٠٨
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ Those are the ones who got stamped by the One upon their hearts, and their hearing, and their vision; and they are those who are heedless.

Such are they whose hearts and ears and eyes Allah hath sealed. And such are the heedless. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then lo! thy Lord - for those who became fugitives after they had been persecuted, and then fought and were steadfast - lo! thy Lord afterward is (for them) indeed Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Thereafter your Lord will indeed be forgiving and merciful to those who migrated after they were persecuted, waged jihad and remained steadfast. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those who left their homes for the cause of God after they had been persecuted, strove hard for His cause and exercised patience should know (even though they had verbally renounced their faith) that your Lord is All-forgiving and All-merciful. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Yet surely your Lord, with respect to those who fly after they are persecuted, then they struggle hard and are patient, most surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful. - Shakir, Habib

اس کے بعد تمہارا پروردگار ان لوگوں کے لئے جنہوں نے فتنوں میں مبتلا ہونے کے بعد ہجرت کی ہے اور پھر جہاد بھی کیا ہے اور صبر سے بھی کام لیا ہے یقینا تمہارا پروردگار بہت زیادہ بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

بخلاف اس کے جن لوگوں کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب (ایمان لانے کی وجہ سے) وہ ستائے گئے تو اُنہوں نے گھر بار چھوڑ دیے، ہجرت کی، راہ خدا میں سختیاں جھیلیں اور صبرسے کام لیا، اُن کے لیے یقیناً تیرا رب غفور و رحیم ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala
