And two young men went to prison with him. One of them said: I dreamed that I was pressing wine. The other said: I dreamed that I was carrying upon my head bread whereof the birds were eating. Two young men were also sent to serve prison sentences (for different reasons). One of them said, [I had a dream in which I was brewing wine.] The other one said, [In my dream I was carrying some bread on my head and birds were eating that bread.] They asked Joseph if he would interpret their dreams. And two youths entered the prison with him. One of them said: I saw myself pressing wine. And the other said: I saw myself carrying bread on my head, of which birds ate. Inform us of its interpretation; surely we see you to be of the doers of good. - Shakir, Habib

قید خانہ میں دو غلام اور بھی اس کے ساتھ داخل ہوئے ایک روز اُن میں سے ایک نے اُس سے کہا ——میں نے خواب میں دیکھا ہے کہ میں شراب کشید کر رہا ہوں—— دوسرے نے کہا ——میں نے دیکھا کہ میرے سر پر روٹیاں رکھی ہیں اور پرندے ان کو کھا رہے ہیں—— دونوں نے کہا ——ہمیں اس کی تعبیر بتائیے، ہم دیکھتے ہیں کہ آپ ایک نیک آدمی ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اس کے ساتھ قیدخانہ میں دو جوان داخل ہوئے ان میں ایک بولا میں نے خواب میں دیکھا کہ شراب نچوڑتا ہوں اور دوسرا بولا میں نے خواب دیکھا کہ میرے سر پر کچھ روٹیاں ہیں جن میں سے پرند کھاتے ہیں، ہمیں اس کی تعبیر بتایے، بیشک ہم آپ کو نیکو کار دیکھتے ہیں - Ahmed Raza

He said: The food which ye are given (daily) shall not come unto you but I shall tell you the interpretation ere it cometh unto you. This is of that which my Lord hath taught me. Lo! I have forsaken the religion of folk who believe not in Allah and are disbelievers in the Hereafter. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [Before the meals you are served come to you I will inform you of its interpretation. That is among things my Lord has taught me. Indeed, I renounce the creed of the people who have no faith in Allah and who [also] disbelieve in the Hereafter. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Joseph) said, [To prove that my interpretation of your dream is true, I can tell you what kind of food you will receive even before it comes to you. My Lord has given me such talents. I have given up the tradition of the people who do not believe in God and the Day of Judgment - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: There shall not come to you the food with which you are fed, but I will inform you both of its interpretation before it comes to you; this is of what my Lord has taught me; surely I have forsaken the religion of a people who do not believe in Allah, and they are deniers of the hereafter: - Shakir, Habib

Joseph said to them, [I shall inform you of the interpretation of your dreams before your meal is brought to you. This is a part of the knowledge that my Lord has taught me. I have renounced the religion of the people who do not believe in God and who deny the Hereafter. - Wahiduddin Khan

یوسف نے کہا کہ جو کھانا تم کو دیا جاتا ہے وہ نہ آنے پائے گا اور میں تمہیں تعبیر بتادوں گا -یہ تعبیر مجھے میرے پروردگار نے بتائی ہے اور میں نے اس قوم کے راستے کو چھوڑ دیا ہے جس کا ایمان اللہ پر نہیں ہے اور وہ روز هآخرت کا بھی انکار کرنے والی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یوسفؑ نے کہا: ——یہاں جو کھانا تمہیں ملا کرتا ہے اس کے آنے سے پہلے میں تمہیں اِن خوابوں کی تعبیر بتا دوں گا یہ علم اُن علوم میں سے ہے جو میرے رب نے مجھے عطا کیے ہیں واقعہ یہ ہے کہ میں نے اُن لوگوں کا طریقہ چھوڑ کر جو اللہ پر ایمان نہیں لاتے اور آخرت کا انکار کرتے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

یوسف نے کہا جو کھانا تمہیں ملا کرتا ہے وہ تمہارے پاس نہ آنے پائے گا کہ میں اس کی تعبیر اس کے آنے سے پہلے تمہیں بتادوں گا یہ ان علموں میں سے ہے جو مجھے میرے رب نے سکھایا ہے، بیشک میں نے ان لوگوں کا دین نہ مانا جو اللہ پر ایمان نہیں لاتے اور وہ آخرت سے منکر ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

a thing;
ۚ
ذَٰلِكَ
that is
مِن
from
فَضْلِ
grace of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
عَلَيْنَا
upon us,
وَعَلَى
and upon
ٱلنَّاسِ
the populace,
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
أَكْثَرَ
many of
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
لَا
are not
يَشْكُرُونَ
thankful.

وَٱتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ ءَابَآءِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۚ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نُّشْرِكَ بِٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ And I follow doctrine of my forefathers Ibrahim and Ishaaq; and Yaqoob; not has been for us that we take on partners with the One from a thing; that is from grace of the One upon us, and upon the populace, but many of the people are not thankful.

Those whom ye worship beside Him are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers. Allah hath revealed no sanction for them. The decision rests with Allah only, Who hath commanded you that ye worship none save Him. This is the right religion, but most men know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اُس کو چھوڑ کر تم جن کی بندگی کر رہے ہو وہ اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہیں کہ بس چند نام ہیں جو تم نے اور تمہارے آباؤ اجداد نے رکھ لیے ہیں، اللہ نے ان کے لیے کوئی سند نازل نہیں کی فرماں روائی کا اقتدار اللہ کے سوا کسی کے لیے نہیں ہے اس کا حکم ہے کہ خود اس کے سوا تم کسی کی بندگی نہ کرو یہی ٹھیٹھ سیدھا طریق زندگی ہے، مگر اکثر لوگ جانتے نہیں ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And he said unto him of the twain who he knew would be released: Mention me in the presence of thy lord. But Satan caused him to forget to mention it to his lord, so he (Joseph) stayed in prison for some years. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then he said to the one whom he knew would be delivered from among the two: [Mention me to your master.] But Satan caused him to forget mentioning [it] to his master. So he remained in the prison for several years. - Qarai, Ali Quli

پھر اُن میں سے جس کے متعلق خیال تھا کہ وہ رہا ہو جائے گا اس سے یوسفؑ نے کہا کہ ——اپنے رب (شاہ مصر) سے میرا ذکر کرنا—— مگر شیطان نے اسے ایسا غفلت میں ڈالا کہ وہ اپنے رب (شاہ مصر) سے اس کا ذکر کرنا بھول گیا اور یوسفؑ کئی سال قید خانے میں پڑا رہا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور یوسف نے ان دونوں میں سے جسے بچتا سمجھا اس سے کہا اپنے رب (بادشاہ) کے پاس میرا ذکر کرنا تو شیطان نے اسے بھلا دیا کہ اپنے رب (بادشاہ) کے سامنے یوسف کا ذکر کرے تو یوسف کئی برس اور جیل خانہ میں رہا - Ahmed Raza

And the king said: Lo! I saw in a dream seven fat kine which seven lean were eating, and seven green ears of corn and other (seven) dry. O notables! Expound for me my vision, if ye can interpret dreams. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

ایک روز بادشاہ نے کہا ——میں نے خواب میں دیکھا ہے کہ سات موٹی گائیں ہیں جن کو سات دبلی گائیں کھا رہی ہیں، اور اناج کی سات بالیں ہری ہیں اور دوسری سات سوکھی اے اہل دربار، مجھے اس خواب کی تعبیر بتاؤ اگر تم خوابوں کا مطلب سمجھتے ہو—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala
