ٱلَّذِينَ
The ones who
يَصُدُّونَ
obstruct
عَن
from
سَبِيلِ
path of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
وَيَبْغُونَهَا
and seek in it
عِوَجًۭا
twists,
وَهُم
and they
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
about the forthcoming
هُمْ
are
كَٰفِرُونَ
in denial.
١١
١٩
ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًۭا وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ The ones who obstruct from path of the One and seek in it twists, and they about the forthcoming are in denial.
⦿
Who debar (men) from the way of Allah and would have it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

—those who bar [others] from the way of Allah, and seek to make it crooked, and disbelieve in the Hereafter. - Qarai, Ali Quli

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ مُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۘ يُضَٰعَفُ لَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۚ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يُبْصِرُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Such will not escape in the earth, nor have they any protecting friends beside Allah. For them the torment will be double. They could not bear to hear, and they used not to see. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They cannot frustrate [Allah] on the earth, nor do they have besides Allah any guardian. For them the punishment shall be doubled, for they could neither listen, nor did they use to see. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Such people will never weaken God's (power) on earth nor will they find any guardian besides God. Their punishment will be doubled and they will not be able to hear or see. - Sarwar, Muhammad

وہ زمین میں اللہ کو بے بس کرنے والے نہ تھے اور نہ اللہ کے مقابلہ میں کوئی ان کا حامی تھا انہیں اب دوہرا عذاب دیا جائے گا وہ نہ کسی کی سن ہی سکتے تھے اور نہ خود ہی انہیں کچھ سوجھتا تھا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَأَخْبَتُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
Lo! those who believe and do good works and humble themselves before their Lord: such are rightful owners of the Garden; they will abide therein. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds and are humble before their Lord—they shall be the inhabitants of paradise, and they shall remain in it [forever]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The righteously striving believers who are humble before their Lord, will be the dwellers of Paradise wherein they will live forever. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Surely (as to) those who believe and do good and humble themselves to their Lord, these are the dwellers of the garden, in it they will abide. - Shakir, Habib

(Take the) example of
ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ
the two groups:
كَٱلْأَعْمَىٰ
(one) as the blind
وَٱلْأَصَمِّ
and the deaf,
وَٱلْبَصِيرِ
and (other as) the visioned
وَٱلسَّمِيعِ
and the hearing one;
ۚ
هَلْ
is it that
يَسْتَوِيَانِ
they are equal
مَثَلًا
in example?
ۚ
أَفَلَا
Then why do not
تَذَكَّرُونَ
you remember?

٢٤
مَثَلُ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْأَصَمِّ وَٱلْبَصِيرِ وَٱلسَّمِيعِ ۚ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ (Take the) example of the two groups: (one) as the blind and the deaf, and (other as) the visioned and the hearing one; is it that they are equal in example? Then why do not you remember?

The similitude of the two parties is as the blind and the deaf and the seer and the hearer. Are they equal in similitude? Will ye not then be admonished? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The parable of the two parties is that of one who is blind and deaf and one who sees and hears. Are they equal in comparison? Will you not then take admonition? - Qarai, Ali Quli

And certainly
أَرْسَلْنَا
We dispatched
نُوحًا
Nooh
إِلَىٰ
towards
قَوْمِهِۦٓ
his nation (saying),
إِنِّى
[I am certainly
لَكُمْ
for you
نَذِيرٌۭ
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
having clarity.]
And certainly We dispatched Nooh towards his nation (saying), [I am certainly for you a warner having clarity.]

And We sent Noah unto his folk (and he said): Lo! I am a plain warner unto you. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We sent Noah to his people [to declare]: [Indeed I am a manifest warner to you. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We sent Noah to his people to give them the clear warning - Sarwar, Muhammad

And certainly We sent Nuh to his people: Surely I am a plain warner for you: - Shakir, Habib

We sent Noah to his people. He said, [I have come to you with a clear warning: - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے نوح کو ان کی قوم کی طرف اس پیغام کے ساتھ بھیجاکہ میں تمہارے لئے کھلے ہوئے عذاب الٰہی سے ڈرانے والا ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

(اور ایسے ہی حالات تھے جب) ہم نے نوحؑ کو اُس کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا تھا (اُس نے کہا) ——میں تم لوگوں کو صاف صاف خبردار کرتا ہوں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور بے شک ہم نے نوح کو اس کی قوم کی طرف بھيجا کہ میں تمہارے لیے صریح ڈر سنانے والا ہوں - Ahmed Raza

عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
عَذَابَ
a punishing
يَوْمٍ
period
أَلِيمٍۢ
of sufffering.]
[That not you obey except the One; I am fearing for upon you a punishing period of sufffering.]

That ye serve none, save Allah. Lo! I fear for you the retribution of a painful Day. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

that they should not worship anyone besides God. (Noah warned them), [I am afraid that you will suffer the most painful torment]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور یہ کہ خبردار تم اللہ کے علاوہ کسی کی عبادت نہ کرنا کہ میں تمہارے بارے میں دردناک دن کے عذاب کا خوف رکھتا ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہ کرو ورنہ مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ تم پر ایک روز دردناک عذاب آئے گا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کو نہ پوجو، بیشک میں تم پر ایک مصیبت والے دن کے عذاب سے ڈرتا ہوں - Ahmed Raza

اور یہ کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی اور کی عبادت نہ کرو (ورنہ) میں تمہارے بارے میں ایک ہولناک دن کے عذاب سے ڈرتا ہوں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

فَقَالَ
Thus said
ٱلْمَلَأُ
the head clerics of
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَفَرُوا۟
were in denial
مِن
from
قَوْمِهِۦ
his nation,
مَا
[Not
نَرَىٰكَ
we see you
إِلَّا
except
بَشَرًۭا
a human
مِّثْلَنَا
just like us,
وَمَا
and not
نَرَىٰكَ
we see you
ٱتَّبَعَكَ
being followed
إِلَّا
except by
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
هُمْ
are
أَرَاذِلُنَا
most rejected by us
بَادِىَ
evident by
ٱلرَّأْىِ
the opinion,
وَمَا
and not
نَرَىٰ
we see
لَكُمْ
for you
عَلَيْنَا
upon us
مِن
from
فَضْلٍۭ
grace,
بَلْ
but on the contrary
نَظُنُّكُمْ
we consider you to be
كَٰذِبِينَ
liars.]
١١
٢٧
فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا نَرَىٰكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًۭا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَىٰكَ ٱتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِىَ ٱلرَّأْىِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍۭ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَٰذِبِينَ Thus said the head clerics of the ones who were in denial from his nation, [Not we see you except a human just like us, and not we see you being followed except by the ones who are most rejected by us evident by the opinion, and not we see for you upon us from grace, but on the contrary we consider you to be liars.]

The chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: We see thee but a mortal like us, and we see not that any follow thee save the most abject among us, without reflection. We behold in you no merit above us - nay, we deem you liars. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But the elite of the faithless from among his people said, [We do not see you to be anything but a human being like ourselves, and we do not see anyone following you except those who are simpleminded riffraff from our midst. Nor do we see that you have any merit over us. Indeed, we consider you to be liars.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The disbelievers among his people said, [We do not believe that you are any better than the rest of us; we see that only the worthless hasty ones, the lowliest among us follow you. Thus, we do not think that you are superior to us, rather you are all liars.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

But the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: We do not consider you but a mortal like ourselves, and we do not see any have followed you but those who are the meanest of us at first thought and we do not see in you any excellence over us; nay, we deem you liars. - Shakir, Habib

The leaders of his people, who refused to acknowledge the truth, said, [We regard you only as a human being like ourselves. We do not see that anyone follows you but the lowliest of us, those of immature judgement. We see no superior merit in you; in fact we believe you are a liar.] - Wahiduddin Khan

تو ان کی قوم کے بڑے لوگ جنہوں نے کفر اختیار کرلیا تھا -انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم تو تم کو اپنا ہی جیسا ایک انسان سمجھ رہے ہیں اور تمہارے اتباع کرنے والوں کو دیکھتے ہیں کہ وہ ہمارے پست طبقہ کے سادہ لوح افراد ہیں. ہم تم میں اپنے اوپر کوئی فضیلت نہیں دیکھتے ہیں بلکہ تمہیں جھوٹا خیال کرتے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جواب میں اُس کی قوم کے سردار، جنہوں نے اس کی بات ماننے سے انکار کیا تھا، بولے ——ہماری نظر میں تو تم اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہو کہ بس ایک انسان ہو ہم جیسے اور ہم دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ ہماری قوم میں سے بس اُن لوگوں نے جو ہمارے ہاں اراذل تھے بے سوچے سمجھے تمہاری پیروی اختیار کر لی ہے اور ہم کوئی چیز بھی ایسی نہیں پاتے جس میں تم لوگ ہم سے کچھ بڑھے ہوئے ہو، بلکہ ہم تو تمہیں جھوٹا سمجھتے ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو اس کی قوم کے سردار جو کافر ہوئے تھے بولے ہم تو تمہیں اپنے ہی جیسا آدمی دیکھتے ہیں اور ہم نہیں دیکھتے کہ تمہاری پیروی کسی نے کی ہو مگر ہمارے کمینوں نے سرسری نظر سے اور ہم تم میں اپنے اوپر کوئی بڑائی نہیں پاتے بلکہ ہم تمہیں جھوٹا خیال کرتے ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

اس پر ان کی قوم کے سردار جو کافر تھے کہنے لگے کہ (اے نوح) ہم تو تمہیں اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں دیکھتے کہ تم ہم جیسے ایک انسان ہو۔ اور ہم تو یہی دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ جن لوگوں نے آپ کی پیروی کی ہے وہ ہم میں سے بالکل رذیل لوگ ہیں اور انہوں نے بھی بے سوچے سمجھے سرسری رائے سے کی ہے اور ہم تم میں اپنے اوپر کوئی برتری نہیں دیکھتے بلکہ تم لوگوں کو جھوٹا خیال کرتے ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

قَالَ
(Nooh) said,
يَٰقَوْمِ
[Oh my nation!
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
Do you see
إِن
that
كُنتُ
I am
عَلَىٰ
upon
بَيِّنَةٍۢ
clarity
مِّن
from
رَّبِّى
my Rabb,
وَءَاتَىٰنِى
and have been given
رَحْمَةًۭ
a blessing
مِّنْ
from
عِندِهِۦ
near Him.
فَعُمِّيَتْ
So if there is blindness
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you,
أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا
then should I force it upon you
وَأَنتُمْ
while you are being
لَهَا
for it
كَٰرِهُونَ
repulsed?]
١١
٢٨
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّى وَءَاتَىٰنِى رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمْ لَهَا كَٰرِهُونَ (Nooh) said, [Oh my nation! Do you see that I am upon clarity from my Rabb, and have been given a blessing from near Him. So if there is blindness upon you, then should I force it upon you while you are being for it repulsed?]
⦿
He said: O my people! Bethink you, if I rely on a clear proof from my Lord and there hath come unto me a mercy from His presence, and it hath been made obscure to you, can we compel you to accept it when ye are averse thereto? - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
He said, [O my people! Tell me, should I stand on a manifest proof from my Lord, and He has granted me His own mercy—though it should be invisible to you—shall we force it upon you while you are averse to it? - Qarai, Ali Quli

Noah replied, [My people do you think - that if my Lord has sent me a miracle and granted me mercy but your ignorance has obscured them from your sight - we can force you to believe when you do not want to? - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: O my people! tell me if I have with me clear proof from my Lord, and He has granted me mercy from Himself and it has been made obscure to you; shall we constrain you to (accept) it while you are averse from it? - Shakir, Habib

He said, [O my people, tell me: if I have clear evidence from my Lord and He has favoured me with grace from Himself, which you have been unable to recognize, can we force it on you against your will? - Wahiduddin Khan

انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ اے قوم تمہارا کیا خیال ہے کہ اگر میں اپنے پروردگار کی طرف سے دلیل رکھتا ہوں اور وہ مجھے اپنی طرف سے وہ رحمت عطا کردے جو تمہیں دکھائی نہ دے تو کیا میں ناگواری کے باوجود زبردستی تمہارے اوپر لادسکتا ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس نے کہا ——اے برادران قوم، ذرا سوچو تو سہی کہ اگر میں اپنے رب کی طرف سے ایک کھلی شہادت پر قائم تھا اور پھر اس نے مجھ کو اپنی خاص رحمت سے بھی نواز دیا مگر وہ تم کو نظر نہ آئی تو آخر ہمارے پاس کیا ذریعہ ہے کہ تم ماننا نہ چاہو اور ہم زبردستی اس کو تمہارے سر چپیک دیں؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بولا اے میری قوم! بھلا بتاؤ تو اگر میں اپنے رب کی طرف سے دلیل پر ہوں اور اس نے مجھے اپنے پاس سے رحمت بخشی تو تم اس سے اندھے رہے، کیا ہم اسے تمہارے گلے چپیٹ (چپکا) دیں اور تم بیزار ہو - Ahmed Raza

نوح(ع) نے کہا اے میری قوم! کیا تم نے (اس بات پر) غور کیا ہے کہ اگر میں اپنے پروردگار کی طرف سے روشن دلیل رکھتا ہوں؟ اور اس نے مجھے اپنی رحمت بھی عطا فرمائی ہے۔ جو تمہیں سجھائی نہیں دیتی۔ تو کہا ہم زبردستی اسے تمہارے اوپر مسلط کر سکتے ہیں۔ جبکہ تم اسے ناپسند کرتے ہو؟ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَيَٰقَوْمِ
[And O my nation!
لَآ
Not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ
I ask you
عَلَيْهِ
upon it
مَالًا
any material thing;
ۖ
إِنْ
certainly
أَجْرِىَ
my reward is
إِلَّا
none but
عَلَى
upon
ٱللَّهِ
the One;
ۚ
وَمَآ
and not
أَنَا۠
I am
بِطَارِدِ
about abandoning
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟
are convinced;
ۚ
إِنَّهُم
certainly
مُّلَٰقُوا۟
they will meet with
رَبِّهِمْ
their Rabb,
وَلَٰكِنِّىٓ
where as I
أَرَىٰكُمْ
see you
قَوْمًۭا
as a nation that is
تَجْهَلُونَ
ignorant.]
١١
٢٩
وَيَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَٰكِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُمْ قَوْمًۭا تَجْهَلُونَ [And O my nation! Not I ask you upon it any material thing; certainly my reward is none but upon the One; and not I am about abandoning the ones who are convinced; certainly they will meet with their Rabb, where as I see you as a nation that is ignorant.]

And O my people! I ask of you no wealth therefor. My reward is the concern only of Allah, and I am not going to thrust away those who believe - Lo! they have to meet their Lord! - but I see you a folk that are ignorant. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O my people! I do not ask you any material reward for it. My reward lies only with Allah. But I will not drive away those who have faith: they will indeed encounter their Lord. But I see that you are an ignorant lot. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
My people I do not ask any payment for what I preach to you. No one except God has to give me any reward. I do not drive away those who have faith (in my teaching); they will all receive mercy from their Lord. I know that you are ignorant people. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And, O my people! I ask you not for wealth in return for it; my reward is only with Allah and I am not going to drive away those who believe; surely they shall meet their Lord, but I consider you a people who are ignorant: - Shakir, Habib

O my people, I do not ask you for any money for this; my reward comes only from God. I will not drive away those who believe; they shall surely meet their Lord. Yet I see that you are a people who act out of ignorance. - Wahiduddin Khan

اے قوم میں تم سے کوئی مال تو نہیں چاہتا ہوں -میرا اجر تو اللہ کے ذمہ ہے اور میں صاحبان هایمان کو نکال بھی نہیں سکتا ہوں کہ وہ لوگ اپنے پروردگار سے ملاقات کرنے والے ہیں البتہ میں تم کو ایک جاہل قوم تصور کررہا ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اے برادران قوم، میں اِس کام پر تم سے کوئی مال نہیں مانگتا، میرا اجر تو اللہ کے ذمہ ہے اور میں اُن لوگوں کو دھکے دینے سے بھی رہا جنہوں نے میری بات مانی ہے، وہ آپ ہی اپنے رب کے حضور جانے والے ہیں مگر میں دیکھتا ہوں کہ تم لوگ جہالت برت رہے ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اے قوم! میں تم سے کچھ اس پر مال نہیں مانگتا میرا اجر تو اللہ ہی پر ہے اور میں مسلمانوں کو دور کرنے والا نہیں بیشک وہ اپنے رب سے ملنے والے ہیں لیکن میں تم کو نرے جاہل لوگ پا تا ہوں - Ahmed Raza

اے میری قوم! میں اس (تبلیغِ حق) پر تم سے کوئی مالی معاوضہ طلب نہیں کرتا۔ میرا معاوضہ اللہ کے ذمے ہے اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے ہیں (وہ تمہاری نگاہ میں جس قدر پست ہوں) میں ان کو اپنے پاس سے نکال نہیں سکتا۔ بے شک وہ اپنے پروردگار کی بارگاہ میں حاضری دینے والے ہیں البتہ میں دیکھتا ہوں کہ تم جہالت سے کام لینے والے لوگ ہو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
